AP PHOTO GROUP APP321300 reviews

Multi-Format Classic Self-Feed Film Reel is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These reels work well. The people who wrote these reviews are obvious newbs. If the reel is in total darkness, the color of it does not matter and the fog would be down the entire top or bottom edge of the roll, not at either the leading or trailing end. and the other person stopped developing in the middle of their film process to write a review? what competent person would do that? I have been using these reels for 25 years and they perform very well. I also have 40 high school students a day use these without issue. If I HAD to state an issue, it would be that once in a while the ball bearings lock up, but a flick with an Xacto blade and you are back in business.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you love frustration, this is the reel for you I had to stop in the middle of developing to write this review. I just spent a HALF HOUR trying to load this piece of junk! I finally had to use a metal reel. There is almost no way to tell when you've got the film started. The starting lobes are TINY. And there's nothing to keep the film on the track once I did accidentally get the film started. Even then, when I started ratcheting the film on it would go a little ways and then REVERSE ITSELF and come right back off the reel. When I develop this roll I expect to see crinkles, fingerprints, dust, lint and who knows what else because of the HECK I just went through to try and load this USELESS STUFF!! Stay very far away from this junk!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Maybe if you have your own darkroom... ...but I don't. I load my film in a changing bag and then process it in the kitchen with the lights on. This reel works well but is made of white plastic which seems to allow too much light from the hole where you pour your chemicals in to get at your film. The result was fogging for the first 4 - 5 exposures of the roll of 120 that I processed. I guess it's back to my old GAF reel, which has a black core.
