The IUF-55 Steady Cool 2-Lamp Fluorescent Fixture from Angler is a lightweight fixture that serves as an ideal portable core unit for any setup. The 22.25 x 7 x 3.25" fixture weighs just 3.75 lb and comes with two 55W daylight-balanced lamps that can be swapped out for optional tungsten bulbs. Its hammered reflective silver barndoors help control the IUF-55's output as well as containing spill light. Its flexible gooseneck mount allows for multiple setup options while its 5/8" receiver accepts light stands with a matching stud.

The IUF-55 Steady Cool draws very little power for a fast ROI in the studio while its multi-voltage 110 - 220 VAC power supply allows location use anywhere in the world. The light comes with a padded carry case for storage and transport.

Steady Cool 2-Lamp Fluorescent Fixture is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good light temp but poorly constructed I just received 2 of these unit today from my recent Deal Zone purchase. Although the lamp temperature measure almost correctly (I used a light meter to measure) at 5410K, the rest of the fixture was flimsy, poorly constructed, and even the plug itself seats loose on the wall outlet or power strip. The plastic clips that hold the lamps are every hard to remove - I was worried I could break them on break the fluorescent. I light the goose neck but it attaches poorly using two small screws that felt like it will loose its thread. I decided to keep it for the light and to use in the current project. It might stay on a couple more project if it is handled with a lot of care. For the price I paid, it was an okay buy but I really don't think it's worth it since it won't last that long. By the way, those barn door reflectors are made of some kind of board and are very delicate and flimsy. Lastly, it comes with a bag so you can transport it but it will not protect the fixture if you checked it in the plane or ship it through a carrier. Make sure you get it well padded because there are no pads on the bag itself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK for casual amateur use I've just received the product today, so no actual field or long term experience yet. I will not touch on things that are clear from the product picture / description. PRO: - light weight - padded carrying case has ample capacity for other items - no bothersome heat radiation CON: - cheaply built, flimsy construction. I can live with all plastic construction, but the feel of the unit is that it lacks rigidity, and the lamps mounting is below par (out of the shipping box, both lamps were out of their sockets, and it took 5 minutes to push one of them back in). I wish the manufacturer would have put plastic lamp clamps also near the sockets. - flexible gooseneck mount needs assembly/disassembly (using 2 screws) before/after use if transported in the padded carrying case. The gooseneck allows only 20 deg or so max bending angle in either direction. I expected higher light output - although the lamps are marked as 55W each, a 40W fluorescent house lamp would give about the same amount of room light (tested in a 12X9' room with white walls). Maybe the lamps' color balancing reduce subjectively-observed output - I don't know. As another reference, when testing general room illumination against Aputure HR672, that room was about twice as bright with the LED light. Overall, it can do the job as a soft fill light if you mount it within 2-4 feet from the subject. Will I buy it again? I am not sure. It can serve as a niche lighting source for accasional use, but I will first check other offerings too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great, low maintenance light Creates LOTS of light and it doesn't suck up much power, and it doesn't heat up. A great purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works but poorly constructed I bought 2 of these during the recent deal zone offer. For the deal zone price I paid, I decided to keep it and if after a couple of use it breaks on me, I think I got it paid off. Anything more that $99 I won't buy it at all. I'll provide my pros and cons with each having a rating of 1 - Poor, 2 - OK/Usable, 3 - Good (as advertised). I can't give it more than Good since it's really an OK only product. PRO: - Temp of the lights measures at 5410K to 5470K which is in the ballpark of the rating on the lamp that's 5450K Daylight. (3) - Gooseneck attachment is a nice feature (2) - Light casing runs cool, but do not touch the fluorescent lamps (2) - Should last a few uses as long as you are very careful handling it (2) CON: - Plastic clamps are hard to open and remove. I was concerned that it could break anytime soon. (1) - Reflectors and construction of the lighting case is very flimsy. (2) - Overall lighting case is plastic construction and the reflectors are made of something like a cardboard glued on to the reflector. (1) - Plug falls off from the wall outlet. It does not plug snugly to the electrical outlet.
