Can it be installed in the reverse direction ...
Can it be installed in the reverse direction (foot pointing towards the camera)? I'd like to use it with my Z7 with TC-E14III and FTZ, where the center of gravity is on the the TC, i.e. behind the lens and thus ideally the foot would be under it.
Depends on camera. If you use the double A battery pack then it could be a tight fit if the collar is installed backwards.

Yes it does. I too wasn't sure at first and decided to check with Kirk. They informed me that the NC-300 fits both the 70-200mm f4 as well as the 300mm f4 lenses.

What is the material inside the collar? Is it a non scratching-non slipping material? thanks
The collar is made of aluminum. I have not had any slipping while using this collar with my 300mm lens and love it.
