Designed in collaboration with knife designer/maker Rick Hinderer, Kershaw's Ember Folding Knife features a short 2" clip-point 8Cr13moV stainless steel blade with a protective hardened matte-gray titanium carbo-nitride ceramic coating. The clip-point configuration offers a comfortable top curve to give the user's forefinger a natural rest when guiding the edge during close cutting situations. The Ember is equipped with the SpeedSafe assisted opening system: press the ambidextrous protrusion to quickly and easily move the blade out of the handle and flip it fully-open with the flick of the wrist. When the blade is fully open, a frame lock moves into place to keep it in position for safe use. To close the blade, simply move the lock to the side and fold it shut.
Its durable and corrosion-resistant 410 stainless steel handle has a matching titanium carbo-nitride ceramic coating. The pocket clip can be set in one of three positions: right-hand carry, tip up or tip down; left-hand carry, tip down. At just 2.2oz with a closed of only 2.8", the Ember will barely be felt in most pockets and the deep-carry clip allows it to sit low for discreet carrying. Rick's experience as a first-responder inspired the creation of this small, lightweight cutting tool that is tough enough to handle daily use.
