Designed by Emerson Knives and built by Kershaw, the CQC-6K Folding Knife features Emerson's patented "Wave" opening system that employs a wave-shaped tab on the blade's spine that catches on the pocket seam, opening the knife as it comes out so the blade is fully open and ready for use without the user having to do anything more than draw it. This automatic deployment is ideal for first responders, search & rescue, or law-enforcement and military personnel who require immediate access to their blade when every second is critical. As an alternative to this deployment function is an ambidextrous thumb disk on the spine.
The CQC-6K's versatile full edge 3.25" modified clip point blade has a two-tone finish: satin on the upper/stonewashed on the grind, and is made from 8Cr14MoV stainless steel. The blade design combines the slicing capabilities common to clip points, but with a thicker point for added piercing ability similar to a tanto. Its handle features a black G-10 fiberglass front panel with a pebbled texture for a slip-resistant grip and sure handling in cold a wet weather. The back, where the frame lock and clip are located, is 410 stainless steel with an anti-reflective bead blast finish. A deep forefinger groove with ridges, coupled with upper thumb and bottom rear ridges, provide an enhanced confident grip. The knife's reversible clip is designed to allow the user choose left or right-hand carry. At 5.1oz with a closed length of 4.5" this knife can be easily carried in most pockets without adding excessive bulk.
