    Kirk CRC-1 reviews

CRC-1 Lens Collar For Select Canon Lenses is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best collar you can buy for your Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS VII Big fan of Kirk products, and this is no exception. The collar adds the acra swiss connection system for quick release, and the collar rotates much better than the Canon collar when rotating from portrait to lanscape mode. Highly recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent collar This is a very smooth collar that doesn't require removal of the lens from the camera to remove the collar. Well made and a great addition to this great lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding! Expensive, but for a 70-200 F/2.8 Canon lens it had to be heavy duty, easy to use and light weight at the same time. WELL worth the price and convenience!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much much better now Much smoother rotating operation than stock tripod collar. Smooths it out nicely. And much more stable, vibration resistant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great product Well machined and good smooth action. This is an awesome ring and as a bonus it mated with my Sirui tripod head!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality, stable lens collar for Canon EF70-200 2.8L II This lens collar provides very good stability, much better then connecting an Arca Swiss plate to the standard Canon collar. It's build feels good. The large knob is easy to operate and the bottom of the plate has a connection for a strap, both screw and a whole for a strap. It also give more grip when carrying the lens by the collar. The Canon one is a bit to small to have a good grip. I often use a strap connected to the plate and with a separate plate and standard collar I always had to keep an eye if it didn't loosen while walking. Now it's one piece and I don't need to worry. The collar doesn't have the standard gaps to move over the knob on the lens. The means you need to open the collar to attach it. On the other hand the strong point is that you can remove it without have to disconnect the lens from the body. When you open the collar be aware you don't loose the small spring. Kirk mentions on the website only the EF 70-200 f2.8L II and III as supported models, but their movie also mentions the EF 300 f4, which makes sense. I don't own one of the other lenses mentioned by B&H, so I cannot judge if it fits as well for these. The price is something to consider, it's what you pay for quality. There are cheap alternatives, but I don't want to risk loosing a $2000 lens because the collar fails.
