  • 1Description

Photographers who wish to travel light, frequently find themselves navigating through crowds, and value front, rear, and side access to their gear will appreciate the black Trifecta 10 DSLR Backpack from Think Tank. This contoured bag is designed to hold one standard sized DSLR body with attached lens such as a 70-200mm f/2.8, 2-4 additional lenses, and an up to 10" tablet, and personal gear. For versatility, the main camera compartment has zippered openings for accessing gear from both sides and rear. Underneath the rear lid is a dedicated, slip-in, pocket for an up to 10" tablet. Padded, touch-fastening dividers are useful for organizing gear, and for converting the camera compartment to right or left-handed primary access. Personal gear such as small clothing items and food are stored in the zippered top compartment with two, interior, accessory pockets.

A zippered lid on the left side features pockets for two memory cards and a few small accessories. The exterior, front, stretch pocket will hold a water bottle or tripod base. To hold the midsection of the tripod, there are two loops above the pocket, one on each side for attaching a security strap. Your Trifecta may be carried by the top handle or worn with the padded, adjustable, shoulder harness. For added stability and comfort the pack has a sternum strap and an adjustable waist belt with a quick-release buckle. The back panel is cushioned for comfort and to wick away moisture. For protection from the elements, your Trifecta includes a rain cover and storage pouch.

    Think Tank Photo 419 reviews

Trifecta 10 DSLR Backpack (Black) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleased with Trifecta 10 Backpack in Colorado I am using this backpack to house my Canon 50D, Canon 100-400mm telephoto lens, 28-135mm lens, 18-55mm lens, Canon Speedlite 580EX flash, filter case with four filters, extra camera battery, battery charger and other assorted accessories. I like the way the bag accomodates all of these items in such a manner as to be very readily and easily accessible when needed. It appears to be sturdily constructed and able to withstand the rigors of travel and backpacking. I also like the light weight, as I am a senior and bearing heavy burdens can be an issue. Cost was reasonable for what you get, the item is not over-priced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for your 'Mounted 70-200 + other lenses' rig! The most unique feature that influenced my purchase was the side-access for a camera body with a 70-200 f/2.8 lens mounted. No other backpack or sling pack can support this with side-access; I can swing the bag around my shoulder and get the camera out to shoot. The large side panels are easy opening, and rigid enough to swing open like doors, instead of being 'floppy'. Of course, ThinkTank quality is throughout in zippers, construction, and comfort. The only negative I can think of in, since the bag is symmetrical, the other large opening that is designed to hold you other 1-2 lenses is so large that I worry about the lenses falling out of the bag when I open it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not Just for DSLRs Although intended for DSLR users, this works for me to comfortably carry and have quick access to two Fuji X mirrorless cameras when long zooms are mounted--namely the 100-400 and 50-140--with room for another small lens or two in the bag and accessories safely stored in separate compartments. The pack is very streamlined and comfortable while remaining sturdy and configurable. I plan to use it this way on an upcoming trip to South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula, and recommend it to other Fuji shooters who are wondering how to carry and access their cameras when the new Fujinon long zooms are mounted. The quality construction and sensible and flexible design are up to the usual high Think Tank standard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carry 24-70mm & 70-200mm You can carry 24-70mm with the hood on with the camera attached. Or you can have 70-200mm with the hood flipped/off with the camera attached. With the hood off, you can fit both lenses on either side easily. I will upload a picture to show.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and simple. This bag woks for me. Holds a canon 5D III with 100-400 zoom, plus a couple other lenses. Only drawback is if you have a L plate on camera, which is too tight a fit. Best to take L plate off my until you need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and versatile After a month or so, I'm finally getting comfortable with using it. I find that using the waist belt to support the bag in front of you while accessing the bag thru the large opening between shoulder straps works best for me. Half the time I tried using one of the side openings to access gear, I ended up needing to open the other side as well, which led to a lot of flipping the bag around and multiple zipper opening and closings before I was done. It easily holds my D7200, 3 lenses (10-24mm, 18-300mm, 90mm Macro), Sigma ring flash, regular flash, as well as remotes, extra batteries, filters, flashlight and cleaning stuff. The top compartment will still have room for trail mix and a bottle of water. I wish the rain cover was sewn to the bag. It resides in a separate nifty little bag that will be far too easy for me to lay down somewhere while I'm sorting thru the bag. I probably won't even notice it's gone until raindrops start falling on my head. It's fairly shallow front to back. This keeps the weight close to your spine, which is much more comfortable than deep bags where the weight wants to pull you over backwards. It is very well padded, comfortable against your back, and the shoulder straps and belt are easy to adjust and work well. The back pocket and strap will hold a tripod okay, but a full size tripod with a substantial ball head will stick up a ways above the top of the bag. The result is a bit wobbly and top heavy. It's okay for occasional tripod use, but if you're carrying one all the time I'd probably look at other systems. The fact that most all the contents can be reached without laying the bag on the ground is a plus. Great for when you are standing in mud, water, wet grass, steep terrain, etc. It seems to be well constructed. It holds what you need while still allowing you to cover a lot of ground comfortably. If you carry more than one pro body, or long prime lenses, this bag is far too small.
