Manfrotto Off Road Hiker 20L Overview

Before hitting the trail on your next adventure, consider the 20L, gray Off road Hiker Backpack from Manfrotto for holding, protecting and organizing your photography gear and travel items. A fully-featured backpack, this one offers an insert, multiple compartments, tripod pocket, shoulder straps, waistband and more.

For starters, the backpack includes a padded, zippered insert with movable touch-fastening dividers for storing a small DSLR with attached lens, an additional small lens, and accessories. The fabric-hinged lid closes with a zipper and has a carry handle on top. This insert stows at the base of the backpack inside a designated, side compartment with a zippered-flap. Keeping heavier items on the bottom helps lower your center-of-gravity when carrying the bag, thereby improving your balance and reducing fatigue.

Clothing, food, flashlights, and related personal items store in the main upper compartment above the insert. For weather protection, this compartment seals with a drawstring, and is covered by a large top flap that cinches tight with adjustable, quick-release straps. In the event of precipitation, simply deploy the included waterproof, nylon rain cover which is in matching gray and form-fitted for the backpack. For toting camera supports the backpack offers a side-pocket for larger tripods and elastic cords at the rear for smaller ones. And to greet the great outdoors in style, Manfrotto manufactures tripods and walking sticking in matching, color-coordinated gray.

For stability, structural integrity, and comfort, the Off road Hiker Backpack features two adjustable shoulder straps of 3-D molded foam, as well as a padded adjustable waist band with a smartphone pocket. To reduce unwanted backpack movement, shoulder straps have two adjustable chest straps with quick-connects. In warmer weather, hikers will appreciate the transpiring back system with padded nylon mesh to help wick-away moisture from their backs. When not on your back, the backpack may be carried by its top handle strap.

question

Is it possible to get an insert of a 30 l backpack and to put it in the lower section of the 20l backpack? While i have the 20l backpack and a canon 70d and a 70-200 f2.8. In my opinion it should just about fit. But i can't find any place to buy a separate insert.
Asked by: Bertine V.
Unfortunately that is not a product that we carry or that the manufacturer appears to sell separately.

question

Re: the 20LI have a 70D, external flash (430EXiii), 70-300mm lens with hood and a 50mm that I like to pack around on day hikes, overnight camping, and to sporting events. (the 70-200 is on my wish list). Can the 20L handle it? The 30L sounds great but looks gigantic. I have a 33L Dakine That holds everything and the kitchen sink, but it is too big for light day use.
Asked by: Anonymous
I am not sure how long the 70-300mm lens, but my Canon body plus the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens (lens was too long) would not fit in the 20L so I had to return it. The only way I could get it to fit was if I remove the lens from the body and this defeats the purpose of being able to take pictures easily while hiking. There will be room for an extra lens and a flash but you won't have room for hiking extras, if that is what you would like to use this pack for. May be best to measure the camera body plus lens and see how long it is and check the width of the backpack you are interested in buying.

question

Will the 20L version capable of putting canon 70-200MM IS F4 with 5DIII?
Asked by: Ruoyun
I have this back, like it a lot, but can't use it because the camera compartment is too small. I doubt your configure will fit. I have a Nikon D810 with a 70-200 lense and it doesn't fit. If I have my Nikon D810 with a 50mm it fits, but no room for additional lens. Recommend looking at bigger bag or one with a larger camera cavity.
