Sirui SUT1004XL Overview

  • 1Description

The T-1004XL Aluminum Tripod with E-10 Ball Head from Sirui features reverse-folding legs that go around the ball head allowing it to fold down to 18.3". The T-1004XL extends to a height of 63" and weighs 2.9 lb. The center column on the T-1004XL is reversible for low-angle shots, and a short center column is included to get the tripod down to 5.5" above the ground. The 4-section legs have twist locks and are individually adjustable.

The E-10 ball head compliments the tripod and fits snugly between the 180° legs. It has separate locks for the 360° panning and ball movement. A lock on the clamp prevents the Arca-type compatible clamp from being accidentally released, and a numbered scale enables exacting pans. A padded case and shoulder strap is included to keep the tripod and head protected during transport.

    Sirui SUT1004XL Reviews

T-1004XL Aluminum Tripod with E-10 Ball Head is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from T-1004XL Aluminum Tripod with E-10 Ball Head by Sirui great light weight 3lb tripod for travel, hikers; only issue is the included ball head seems to be overrated in its stated support capacity of 25 lb; my longer heavier lenses 200 macro,70-200 2.8 lenses when angled downward for macro would suffer the gravity weight pull down effect no matter how I tightened the head. seems the included head can handle as an estimate several to 10 or 12 lbs; fine for my 100 macro and 24-120 lenses; lenses in that general weight range. Simple solution was to add a companion heavier duty and higher weight rated (44 lb) Sirui k10 ball head which supported at any angle of tilt the weight of my heavier lenses without any lens creep or pull down effect with hardly any noticeable weight difference in the overall tripod weight. it has great flat compact fold ability to fit in its own compact case; its easy to remove the long center column and replace it with the included shorter column that allows full leg spread out for ground level shoots that the longer column prevents. the longer column is good if the tripod ls at its max height but you want to raise the column for height extension. The legs are stable with a solid feel wi twist locks. I use it primarily for extreme macro with camera set to iso 100 and with a vello free wave remote shutter trigger for my Nikon d810. In the relatively short time I have used this combination since getting it, it has performed flawlessly. I only rate 4 stars because the included e10 ball head did not live up to its 25 lb weight support rating with longer heavy lenses (but less then 25 lb wi camera) when tilted down past certain angles. Depending on your individual needs you might buy the legs wi the 44 lb load capacity rated k10 ball head; the bit of added weight is hardly if at all noticeable wi the whole thing remaining compact and light weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tripod for the money I ordered this tripod three weeks ago as a last minute deal for a trip I was going on, and cash was tight. This had a nice load capacity, looked very nice, and has reputable reviews. It is very light, very tough, and looks/feels really nice in the hand. It supports any and all of my lenses, all the way up to my 300mm F/2.8. Very happy with this tripod, would highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good first tripod For a first real tripod (upgrade from Amazon Basics $20 tripod), this is a very good buy. Reasonably priced, very well built, and easy to use. The screw lock on the legs took some getting used to, but they work well and keep the tripod nice and sturdy. The ball head works well and is easy to adjust to get the composition you want. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is looking for a introductory tripod without spending a ton of money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Travel Tripod Used the tripod for macro and indoor landscape photos at Longwood Gardens, PA. Tripod is steady yet, not too heavy. You need to ensure the leg extension locks are tight. The E-10 ball head exhibited a little drift with my 100mm f2.8 macro. I bought a Manfroto tilt and pan head and if gives a better hold. Overall quality, fit and finish of the unit is very good. Great value for a lower to mid-range price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great little tripod This little tripod is surprisingly good! I am a photo professional and I bought this for a project that was going to require a lot of walking, thinking that it would be too small and light weight for regular use, but it's so efficient and compact I find myself often reaching for it over my more expensive (and heavy) tripods. Fantastic deal for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Use this all the time with my dslr and my little Fuji. Takes the weight and incredible durable. Because I walk around the city a lot I needed something light and this fits the bill. It's extremely lightweight for how solidly it's built. Overall great product. Very very happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tripod This has been a very good tripod for me. I bought it to use for portrait photography and to do light traveling with. It's light, but sturdy. It was worked very well for me.
