Support up to 35.3 lb worth of gear with the TMA38CL Long Series 3 Mach3 Carbon Fiber Tripod from Benro. Made from 9-layer carbon fiber, the 4-section legs are secured via twist locks and extend to a maximum height of 69.7". The center column can be replaced with the included short column to allow the tripod to reach a minimum height of 14". The rubber feet can be swapped out for metal spikes so that the tripod can be used on hard surfaces, such as ice, or soft surfaces, like carpeting or a lawn. A ballast hook on the center column allows for the addition of stabilizing weight, and the included carrying case protects the tripod during transport. A 3/8"-16 threaded stud on the mounting platform lets you attach a head of your choice.

Benro Mach3 TMA38CL Reviews
Heavily field tested
As a real estate photographer, I depend on this tripod every day. I've shot thousands of homes in all weather conditions. The carbon fiber is essential because of the constant repositioning. The strength and stability is necessary for outdoor shots on a windy day. I love how quick and easy the tripod can be adjusted for height and also to account for uneven ground. Our whole team exclusively uses this model. Typically we get 2 years of daily use out of each one before replacing.
A great tripod for landscapes
This tripod is extremely sturdy and very quick to deploy. The center column is nice and beefy and so doesn't cause any stability problems for me (I'm using a Fuji XT-3 and lighter lenses). But if you don't like it, you can exchange it for the included stub column and use it without. Plus, the smaller column lets you lower the tripod very close to the ground. My only complaint is that it is a little heavy, but I'm coming from a travel tripod so I knew that going in. This is the newer model which doesn't have the monopod option. Not sure why Benro got rid of that option, but not a big deal for me.
Robust with Fast Setup and Bubble Level
For its strength and rigidity this tripod is surprisingly light. The twist locks provide rapid, secure leg length adjustment for fast setup. A bubble level makes leveling the tripod for panning straight forward. The spring retractable weight hook on the bottom of the long center column povides a simple, secure means to add ballast for extra stability. A reversible mounting stud on the long center column allows quickly mounting heads with either 3/8-16 threads or 1/4-20 threads. The included carry bag has room for the tripod with a compact head attached. The bag is strong and well padded to protect its contents from the cruel world. Exterior pockets on the carry bag offer secure storage for necessary fiddly bits: steel spike feet, a short center column (with only 3/8-16 threads for mounting a head) for low working height applications, assorted tools needed to install/remove tripod heads or switch between rubber and spiked feet, the provided shoulder strap, and instructions for the tripod and its head(s). My two complaints are both small nitpicks: (1) The carry bag does not have quite enough room for both the tripod and a mounted bulky head (like the Benro GD3WH 3-Way Geared Head I prefer). (2) I'm not strong enough to unscrew the tripod leg that screws on and off to provide a monopod.
Too flimsy
I've had the tripod for about three years and it has been used minimally. Within the first year experienced issues with the leg screws constantly loosening (and my fingers getting jammed in it when it happened). Have also been having a lot of problems with the center column not staying, even on full tighten the column slowly sinks. For the cost, really disappointed in this product.
Shouts Quality!!
I've had Gitzo & Manfrotto tripods among others in the past but even while just unboxing the Benro you can feel the quality. Shooting w/ Canon 5DMark IV system & all types of lenses it's solid & secure. I'm 6ft tall & at it's max height I have to lower it a bit for my best comfort. Buy one!!
1st Carbon Fiber sticks
Replacing my Gitzo , as my main tripod, ( from the '90s when I used a RZ67) . It was very sturdy, but insanely heavy! Going carbon fiber is a game changer for me, yes, very late to the party. It's not small , when strapped to a backpack, but worth the size and trouble when set up. My last tripod.
I like it, but the bag needs to be larger
I like the tripod and it works well with the Benro Gimbal head, but the product would be great if the bag they included could hold the tripod as well as the gimbal head. Only a suggestion.
Best For Heavy/Long Lens
Tripod is super sturdy but light because it's carbon fiber. Packs up nice into provided carrying case for travel. Easy to use. Great with the gimbal head that we need for our spotting scope. So fluid and excellent for wildlife viewing. We like it so much bought another for our DSLR and long lens.
