Benro FTA18CV0 Tripod with V0E Ball Head Overview

Support up to 17.6 lb with the FTA18CV0 Travel Angel Series 1 Carbon Fiber Tripod and the V0E Ball Head. This compact tripod features reverse-folding legs that enable the tripod to fold down to 23.2", which combined with its 3.4 lb weight makes this a suitable tripod for travel. When the 4-section twist-lock legs are fully extended the FTA18CV0 reaches a height of 60.8". One of the legs can be removed and connected to the center column to create a monopod for added versatility.

The legs are made from 9-layer carbon fiber for minimizing weight without sacrificing strength. To add stability, the rapid center column has a ballast hook on the bottom so that you can hang a stabilizing weight such as a heavy bag or case. Rubber feet and stainless-steel spikes let you use the tripod on a variety of surfaces such as grass, ice, or wooden and tile floors. A dust cover and a carrying case with a shoulder strap are included to protect the legs when not in use.

The included V0E ball head has separate pan and ball locks, and an Arca-type clamp with a quick release plate. A 90° notch lets you quickly change your camera to portrait orientation, and an integrated bull's-eye bubble level helps maintain horizontal alignment. The base of the head connects to a tripod or monopod via a 3/8"-16 thread and the included plate provides a 1/4"-20 camera mount.

Can the ball head be removed to use a Benro gimbal on this as well? The pictures make it look like it does, but I don't see anything in the specs.

question

For current owners, does the friction dial on the face of the ballhead lock knob feel finicky?
Asked by: Juan V.
My tripod works great and isn't finicky. I have two of these tripods, one for me (an older model) and now a newer model for my husband and they both are awesome tripods for a lightweight packable tripod. I've put mine through the wringer and still holding up strong.
