Benro FTA28AB1 Tripod with B1 Ball Head Overview

Support up to 22 lb with the FTA28AB1 Travel Angel Series 2 Aluminum Tripod and the B1 Ball Head. This compact tripod features reverse-folding legs that enable the tripod to fold down to 24", which combined with its 4.6 lb weight makes this a suitable tripod for travel. When the 4-section twist-lock legs are fully extended the FTA28AB1 reaches a height of 62.8". One of the legs can be removed and connected to the center column to create a monopod for added versatility.

The legs are made from aluminum alloy for minimizing weight without sacrificing strength. To add stability, the rapid center column has a ballast hook on the bottom so that you can hang a stabilizing weight such as a heavy bag or case. Rubber feet and stainless-steel spikes let you use the tripod on a variety of surfaces such as grass, ice, or wooden and tile floors. A dust cover and a carrying case with a shoulder strap are included to protect the legs when not in use.

The included B1 ball head has separate pan and ball locks, and an Arca-type clamp with a quick release plate. A 90° notch lets you quickly change your camera to portrait orientation, and an integrated bull's-eye bubble level helps maintain horizontal alignment. The base of the head connects to a tripod or monopod via a 3/8"-16 thread and the included plate provides a 1/4"-20 camera mount.

I had been looking for a replacement for my old Slik U212 for a while and was hesitant to switch to a ball head. After talking to a professional nature photographer in Yosemite who swore by the Benro, I decided to make the switch. It is a great tripod, sturdy and well built. I also like the release system on the mounting plate. It is quite simple to use.

I have not gotten a chance to use much, it seems sturdy and whatnot but the first time I went to use it to video a funeral memorial one of the legs fell out when I was extending them and I ended up holding my camera. I was able to fix the leg....after the fact.

Good tri-pod.

Good Travel Tripod

The tripod may not be suitable for super telephoto lenses due to its name. The overall design, materials and workmanship are very good. The only thing I cannot give it 5 stars because the legs of the tripod and the knobs of the ball head interfere each other when the tripod is folded down for bag storage.

No bubble level

Great build , great Head , great all around but no bubble level on the legs / torso of the tripod ??!? Why ? There is a level on the ball head but so what ...every camera has a built in level anyway . Hard to level the legs for panoramic shots and or just a level tripod ?? Big draw back
