I bought this specifically for an experiment: I wanted to mount both my digital and film cameras on the same tripod. I wanted to test my film camera's metering against that of my digital camera, pointed at the same subject. Well, it worked great. Both cameras fit side-by-side (just barely) with access to all functions. I know, this isn't what the plate was made for, but it worked out well for me. As to the quality of the product, I'd say it's first-class, and at a completely reasonable price. I'm happy to have it and am sure to find a variety of uses, including its original intended purpose.
