  • 1Description

The GIM505XLTH4 Grand Stealth Series 5 Carbon Fiber Monopod Kit with TH4 Tilt Head from Induro provides lightweight support for shooting in tight spaces, plus the mobility required for quick shooting on the fly. With a maximum height of 84.7", a folded length of 28", and weighing only 3.2 lb, the monopod is ideal for travel and those on the move.

For added versatility this kit includes the TH4 Tilt Head, which allows the user to alter the position of the camera horizontally while keeping the monopod leg in the upright position. The head is made of solid aluminum alloy and features an Arca-type quick release plate for rapid mounting and dismounting of your camera. The head is 3.6" in height, weighs just 1.1 lb, and can support up to 39.7 lb.

For added security, the Grand series features a three-layer mounting system which anchors the camera thread to an aluminum sleeve inside the carbon fiber tubing, which is protected by an external lock. This reinforced design provides even greater stability and security when mounting heavy cameras and lenses. Equipped with ergonomically designed half-turn twist locks, the monopod is quick to set up and break down. The locks are also designed to be dust- and moisture-resistant, ensuring reliability in tough environments. The reversible 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 stud allows for direct mounting of a camera or the mounting of most tripod and monopod heads. A wrist strap is included for added security and the integrated rubber foot assures a slip-free operation on virtually any surface.

    Induro GIM505XLTH4 reviews

GIM505XLTH4 Grand Stealth Series 5 Carbon Fiber Monopod Kit with TH4 Tilt Head is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Demo Model Purchased Used I purchased this used from BH and it was listed as their demonstation model. It was about $100 less than the used price. I have never used a monopod before my purchase and felt getting a light tall sturdy monopod would be a good choice. I like to shoot birds and wildlife and have the mobility to move around. It was easy to use in crowded areas at the National Zoo and when I was done with it, it collapsed nicely in my Think Tank bag. My only issue with this is that when I got it, I had mounted my d810 with the tc20 III teleconverter and 70-200mm VRII to the camera. I had the monopod resting on my truck flatbed at an angle so it would not fall and when I went to put my hand through the leather grip, the rivet snapped and broke. I am not sure how much tension this device had experienced at the store but I barely put much grip through the strap for it to break. Good thing that it was resting on the truck and did not fall or that I did not grab the strap in between shooting and risk my camera and lens falling. Other than that, the monopod legs and the tilt head were easy to use and felt capable of heavy use. I suggest not relying on the strap so much and maybe invest in a camera strap in case it falls. I was not too inconvenienced by the strap breaking. Camera, lens, teleconverter, and monopod were pretty heavy but not to burdensome walking with at the zoo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mono pod, BAD wrist strap!! As the other reviewer wrote: The wrist strap is garbage!!! Mine broke off the first day I used it. Luckily, I was not relying on the strap, and had my other hand ready incase. On a good note; the mono pod is very sturdy, and the head works well. I use a Canon 7D ll with a Canon 500mm f4 lens, and I have no problems - just DON'T USE THE STRAP!!
