Induro GTT204M2 overview

  • 1Description

Designed for the road, the GTT204M2 Grand Turismo Series 2 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod with BHM2 Ball Head has a slim profile with reverse folding legs that ensure it is as compact as possible, folding up to 18" during transit. The legs are made from a strong, lightweight carbon fiber material for the ultimate in portability with a weight of just 4.3 lb, and the BHM series ball head ensures versatility. The tripod is capable of holding a hefty setup with a load capacity of 30.9 lb and offers a short center column to offer a maximum height of 64.4". The legs are optimized for fast operation with twist locks for going from the minimum height of 17.9" up to the maximum of 53.9" without the center column. Additionally, it comes with a carrying case for convenience.

The included BHM2 Ball Head offers a versatile setup for quickly setting up and leveling your camera. It has a large locking knob to control the movement of the ball, and a separate lock to control the 360° panning motion. An integrated lock limiter tension disk allows you to fine-tune the ball's movement, and properly balance the tension with the weight of your gear. An Arca-type compatible quick release plate with a 1/4"-20 camera mounting screw is included with the ball head, and a bubble level on the clamp allows you to align your camera with the horizon.

    Induro GTT204M2 reviews

GTT204M2 Grand Turismo Series 2 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod with BHM2 Ball Head is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Legs are nice, ball head is so-so... I tested this out in the NYC store and purchased it on the spot about a month ago since I wanted something lighter than my old Gitzo. The tripod fit all the criteria I was looking for and so I bought it. Overall, the design is wonderful ,the legs are sturdy and this is my go to tripod for backpacking and landscape photography. My gripe is the way the arca plate connects to the actual ball head. There seems to be a manufacturing flaw and there is play in the plate when the screw is forceable tightened. For an almost $600 tripod, I would expect the engineering to be a bit more precise. I have reached out to the manufacturer and will update this when I hear back...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tripod I just received this tripod and have been trying it out. With my D810 and a 70-200 lens mounted it's rock solid. There's absolutely no slipping from the ball head and the tension limiter makes locking it a breeze. It's very light compared to my previous ones and has a great carrying case included. So far this tripod is exactly what it claims to be.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with my mobile and smart Induro GT series 2 tripod My Tripod needs to be mobile otherwise I don't take it with me on travel and multi day/nights hikes. During my product orientation I found the Induro Tripods. I chose the series 2 model to get some extra stability when I load it more heavy. For reference, heavy to me is a canon 6d with 100-400 mm. I'm super impressed with the look and feel of this tripod and the accessories that come with it. The ball head is just perfectly stable and easy to use. The flexibility in the use of the legs is amazing and the construction strong. The relatively stable center column gets me some usable additional height out of this (otherwise not so high) tripod. On the other hand this tripod can go low to the ground to help make my macro dreams come to reality. They haven't so far but that is me, not the tripod. And it's the objects that too often decide to walk or fly away. Anyway, this product offers solutions to problems I did not even knew I had with my older Manfrotto. It's amazingly smart! The GT series 2 to me delivers a good balance between mobility, flexibility and stability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Initial Impressions I actually have not had a real opportunity to use the tripod in the field, but I have taken it out to examine the tripod itself, its components, and the accessories that come along with it. The tripod seems very well made with an attention to detail in machining the components and to assembley. The kit including the tripod and ballhead combination, the accessories (short post, feet, and tools), and the carry case make for a nice complete set to take on the road. Set up and tear down are both quick and easy. The total package is compact enough for travel. Maybe a bit heavy, but not by much. The final test will be after carrying it (with or without case) for a while. These are all initial impressions. I hope to say more once I have field tested the item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy. If you can't or won't afford a Gitzo this brand is your best alternative. The Feisols are nice but the leg spread is too narrow. This Indura feels solid and the leg locks work well. The ball head is good and handled my lightweight 4x5. Even at full column extension the camera was steady.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and compact. I was looking for a nice balance between light and compact. I think I found it. First to clarify a few things. 1. The Tripod legs are 4.3 lbs, the BHM2s Head is another 1lb approx. 2. The GTT204m2 I ordered from B@H few days ago came with a BHM2s head. 3. Reverse folded length is about 18in, this includes the head attached. 4.Tripod comes with BOTH a long and short stem, tool kit, padded bag w/handles, ice spikes. Pros Its fairly light weight, about 5.4lbs I'd guess looking at the specs for each part. Add in the bag, tools spikes etc its probably in total around 6lbs all in. Its fairly compact. Think of an 18in long roll of paper towel, one of those larger mega versions. This is basically the size of it folded up. Legs aren't pencil thin, the lowest portion leg is approx .75in wide. Cleanable leg parts. 10yr warranty comes with a case. Cons. Leg locks are not spring loaded. You unlock them, move the legs and lock them in. Could have come with straps or options for people who are going to use it hiking. Leg locks in the retracted position for example. I think a bit of velcro would do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great full featured design. Highly recommended. This is my ideal 'middleweight' tripod. It is supremely well built, has virtually no flex at all and lives in my vehicle. The has all advantages of a studio rig: endless adaptability, a sensible Arca-Swiss type head with a safety lock and excellent twist-locks on the legs. The only time I leave it at home is when I'm travelling by air, for which I use a lighter (lesser) tripod that saves on the pounds. At all other times, this is ideal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great travel tripod! I purchased this as a travel tripod, to fit in my checked luggage and it filled my needs very well. The build quality is excellent, features are very good, and it is very well designed. It is stable, easy to set up and adjust, and handled my Canon 5DM4 with a heavy 28-300 zoom at 7 pounds. The new ball head is smooth and solid, & I like the safety lock on the plate release. It is a bit short for my 6'3 height and not as stable as my larger Induro GT313, but for its purpose as a travel tripod, it is excellent.
