Does having 5 section legs cause the tripod to be less sturdy and/or add more vibration than a 4 section leg tripod?

The Induro GIT505XXL Grand Series 5 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod is very strong tripod. But in general a tripod with less leg sections can be more secure when it comes to vibration.

Is there an optional center column?
Asked by: B
I contacted Induro concerning your inquiry about a center column compatible for use with the Induro GIT505XXL Grand Series 5 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod. According to Induro, they stated at one time, there was such a product called the Induro MGC45 Double-Ended Geared Column for CT404 and CT505 Tripods. Unfortunately, this item has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. They state there may be some used ones around if you search online, but they were not big sellers.

question

Are the legs waterproof? If a stand in a lake or stream will the legs joints let in water
Asked by: Todd K.
I'm pretty sure they're not 'water proof'. However, I doubt you'll find any tripod that is. Thing is they're very well made from carbon fiber and so not terribly affected by fresh or saltwater. Just wash them down, especially after immersion in salt water. I've used my Induro tripod on expeditions to Africa and Mauna Kea in quite a few different conditions. No problems.
