    Dish Network VQ4510 reviews

King VQ4510 Tailgater and ViP211z Receiver Bundle is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage To put it simply, it does not work. I spent five hours trying to get the system up and running, including speaking with five Dish Network representatives. Tech Support was unable to make it work. If it's that difficult to use, the system isw absolutely worthless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the RV Went camping after I set this up and activated it, worked perfectly. The set up was way easier than the instructions. I kept wanting it to do more because of the first time setup instructions, it never downloaded anything it went straight into acquiring signal then it turned on. So, don't worry if it skips some steps it will take you to your programming. It was so nice to have something to do out in the forrest when the weather was nasty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Our only option, good but certainly not great This review will save people a lot of time and aggravation. This would include the reviewer who called it Garbage and I certainly understand why they did except I did have the right tech support folks help. I am extremely tech savvy and mechanically inclined. After 4- 5 hours of trying to set this up in my ocean side home with a direct view of the southern sky nothing would work. The system would reach the first stage of 3 stages to find the satellites and fail within 5 to 10 seconds each and every time. I called tech support after the first hour of failure but I found I could only leave a message. Finally after 3 hours I received a call back. Because of my ability to speak tech the support specialist and I were able to pinpoint the reason. Here is the reason and apparently it is more common than King would like you to know: Inside the grey, opaque dome is a rotating satellite circular dish antenna. This dish is on a circular roller that is attached with a spring tensioner to a gear that drives the spinning motion. The dish will spin in different directions until it picks up satellite number one, then goes to two, then on to three. My unit had the gear detached because of rough handling during delivery. Something the tech guy knew about. Anyway, I fixed the issue by removing the screws around the dome to expose the assembly inside and simply pulling the spring latch to one side until the gear was properly seated and connected. I went back to the setup process and, voila!, it worked. Now onto the review of the unit and receiver itself. You will find that some channels that are carried on the lowest comsat on the horizon (number 3) are not going to come in often. They will either be completely unavailable, partially, or will break up. Some of the channels with the other com stats will have issues. Why? Because this is not a large dish and it has trouble from the start getting strong signals. That's simple physics. Worth it if your only option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product great product easy to setup this is our fourth one. only thing that we don't like is that after two to three years you have to buy a new one they don't last. ours is used 24/7 due to working construction gone from home all the time. I will keep on using and buying the tail gator.
