Gain more control over your camera's motions with the Wireless Thumb Controller for Ronin-M gimbal stabilizers from DJI. Point the camera in any direction and save preset settings for fast, easy operation. The Thumb Controller simply clamps onto the Ronin-M's handlebars for single-operator shoots or can be used remotely from a distance of up to 200'.

Note: This version of the Thumb Controller is for the Ronin-M only. It does not support the Ronin.

Complete Control by Thumb
A custom-made pressure sensitive stick allows you to change the settings, speed, and direction of your gimbal, all at the flick of your thumb. Control where your camera is facing and access advanced settings, including calibration, channel settings, and preset profiles. Making changes is even faster than when using the Ronin remote controller or mobile app and can be done during any of your shots
Fast Setup and Mounting
Simply link the Thumb Controller to your gimbal, and you are ready to go. The Thumb Controller clamps easily to the handle bars or can be placed anywhere you like, no tools required
Clear OLED Screen
View your current status and click through menu options by using the controller's OLED status display
Battery Life and Wireless Range
The Thumb Controller's built-in rechargeable battery gives you up to 18 hours of power per charge. If you prefer to control your Ronin-M from a distance, the wireless signal is capable of working up to 200' away
Dual Controller Compatibility
Use the Thumb Controller in tandem with the Ronin-M's included remote controller. You can set the priority control source simply by designating the primary device
Firmware Updatable
A Micro-USB port on the Thumb Controller allows you to download and apply future software updates as well as recharge the integrated battery

DJI CP.ZM.000174.02 reviews

Wireless Thumb Controller for Ronin-M is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's really a must-have and should be included I'm giving it 4 stars for two reasons. First, this should really come with the Ronin-M. It's a must have when doing single operator shots. So I like the functionality, and it works very well. I've never had any issues with connectivity to the gimbal, and it makes quick adjustments easy (especially while the client is waiting for the shot). I don't have to pull out my phone and do anything with the buggy app. The second reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the mount requires horizontal bar orientation. Well, I'm using it on a circular grip which puts the mount on the vertical. This means it's turned 90 degrees. Not a total dealbreaker, but it does mean I've got to re-orient my mind where left is up, up is right, etc. Maybe I'm being obtuse and there's a way to change the axis, but I've not figured it out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from it doesnt work i tried to bind with my ronin M, it doesnt have an stable connection. i tried with a friend controller and got the same result. i gone to the store asking for another ronin M and surprise, doesnt conect with any ronin M both controllers! 2 controllers in 2 ronin M and doesnt work well. BUT when we tried controllers in an old ronin M first series (the one with the big battery) works perfect, No delay, smooth conection. my teory is the new ronin M producction had a cost reduction with cheap materials and doesnt work with the thumb controllers well. i dont know if they already fixed it soo buy it under your own risk

Rated 4 out of 5 by from THUMB CONTROLLER The Thumb Controller is a solid investment if you own a Ronin-M. I fly it with a gh5s and Nucleus-M follow focus most of the time and the size and feel of it doesn't interfere at all with the Nucleus's handgrips while I try pulling focus. The thumb controller is stiff and rigid which is a little odd at first but I've grown to appreciate it more than a softer joystick. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the system was a hassle to setup and the connection between the Controller and my Ronin won't stay connected periodically when I shut the system down. When powering on I have to re-establish the connection so it adds to my setup time. Hasn't gone out on my during a shoot though which is most important. Reasonably Satisfied Customer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good addition! Almost a must have for anyone working with the Ronin-M or Ronin-MX solo, this makes a world of difference. The smooth track feature built into the Roning-MX (this is the one I operate so I will only speak to its nature) is very good, and works beautifully in most situations, but you don't always want the gimbal to follow your movements in every shot and this thumb controller really lets you take back some control. It's easy to use and it's sensitivity is adjustable, the battery life is great as well. If you're shooting solo with one of these gimbals I would definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool but should be included. DANGER: Fragile USB cover Have to agree that this 'tool' SHOULD be included in the price of the Ronin-M. However, the unit has a VERY fragile little microUSB cover. This is not the first USB port with a thin rubber cover I've torn from its tiny rubber stalk. Probably won't be the last. However, this thin is so thin that it is easily pulled from the body of the Rhumb Controller if you grab it (accidentally) with the cable plug ... I did! Did this in my first hour of ownership. Should ship with extras. I've had two other small electronic devices the same thing has happened to, and both had the same sort of cover. It's thin, weakly attached and so small before you know it you've pinched it with the microUSB plug and ripped out it's the little rubber stem. BEWARE

Rated 4 out of 5 by from getting the hang of it As a new owner of the Ronin M gimbal, I am still learning how to operate it. The thumb controller seems like a great addition, but I sometimes struggle getting it to respond as expected. I suspect this is mostly operator error on my part, and/or conflicting settings between the Ronin and the thumb controller. Sometimes the thumb controller is slow to respond, and I haven't been able to get the shortcut feature to work, yet. Again, this may be operator error on my part. All things considered, it is a welcome addition to the Ronin M.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great in tight spaces! If you are filming in tight spaces, the thumb controller can be really useful. If you are in a situation where you physically can't pan the ronin, just tap the thumb controller the direction you need to pan and you'll get the shot! This may be because of my pan/tilt speed on the ronin itself, but I'm not quite sure, it seems that it doesn't pan very slowly like the large controller that comes with the ronin. It is quite hard to do a slow pan/tilt. Regardless, this product is great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great add on for Ronin MX This little controller is well made, small and very functional. Perfect? Of course not, but what product would be considered perfect. I'm wondering if the bad reviews for Ronin-M and Ronin-MX come from people that never used camera stabilizers. Both, electronic and mechanical stabilizers have pros and cons, and learning how to used them is key. Not sure if some users expect to hold the gimbal and get awesome shots as if by magic :) IMO, Thumb Controller is a Must Have!
