The HAP-S1/B can function as a DAC with digital input connections for optical and coaxial, while analog inputs are available via two stereo pairs of RCA inputs. Additionally, the unit offers an analog output via stereo RCA for connecting to other home audio component systems. The Class A/B amplifier features up to 40W per channel into 2 ohms with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The HAP-S1/B ships with a power cord, remote control, two AAA batteries, and an Ethernet cable.

Hi-Res Music Playback

The HAP-S1/B can playback and decode the following file formats:

  • DSD (DSF, DSDIFF)
  • PCM (44.1 / 48 / 88.2 / 96 / 176.4 / 192 kHz, 16-/24-/32-bit)
  • DSD (2.8/5.6 MHz)
  • WAV
  • AIFF
  • FLAC
  • ALAC
  • ATRAC Advanced Lossless
  • ATRAC
  • MP3
  • AAC
  • WMA

500GB Hard Drive

Store music of all Hi-Res formats for local music playback on the 500GB hard drive. Storage space is expandable via USB external hard drives

Analog FIR Filters

This digital-to-analog converter effectively reduces high-frequency noise in DSD signals. It features independent right and left channels, with four analog FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters per channel producing a combined one-clock delay. FIR filters are ideal for D/A conversion of DSD signals

Digital Sound Enhancement Engine

Offers natural sound with a spacious feel by restoring high frequency sound and the tail shape of the waveform likely to be removed through the audio compression process

Wi-Fi Built-in

Newly designed built-in Wi-Fi increasing whole-house coverage and signal strength. HAP-S1/B is rigorously tested to ensure its Wi-Fi signal strength will work under the most extreme conditions.

HDD Audio Remote App for iOS and Android Phones and Tablets

A dedicated app to control your listening experience with the HAP-S1/B. Create playlists, search stored music and full track control

Expandable Storage via USB

Connect external hard drives to expand the players storage capabilities

Music Transfer Software

Compatible with both Windows and Mac computers, this simple music transfer software allows you to select your music folder and sync it with the HAP-S1/B

Large Power Source Block Capacitor

This acoustically tuned, custom block capacitor features not only improved electrolytic solution and electrode foil magnification, but also superior case form, sleeve material and length. This component is optimally tuned with chemical capacitor length and sleeve cut

Left-Right Separated, Large Bandwidth Power Amp

This Class-AB analog amp utilizes an EBT (emitter balance transistor) with a cutoff frequency of over 300 MHz for the final transistor. The amp device features minimal phase variation up to the high range and excellent transient response. Its twin mono format with separate left and right channels eliminates left-right sound interference and ensures clear, high-quality sound reproduction. The resilient high range reproduces sound with rich musicality and a high degree of faithfulness

High-Rigidity Chassis Structure

Its all-in-one compact size and sturdy 3mm-thick solid aluminum design extends from front panel to top panel

One-Point Ground Structure

Concentrating audio signal control points into a single point eliminates fluctuation of left- and right-channel, and contributes to dynamic sound

Power Source Transformer

A low iron-loss type EI core transformer curbs leakage flux, utilizing core material, varnish, and vacuum impregnation for superior sound quality. As a result, excellent spatial representation and rich resonant timbre is produced. The core size (45 x 66) is large for this class, and thick winding wire helps achieve rich, resonant timbre

question

Will this unit allow playing regular CDs from a plug in CD player? And can they be upgraded to better sound, much as a DVD can be made closer to a Blu-ray? Will the system handle playing from a phonograph player, via the RCA cables? And can the LP songs be stored/recorded to say a CD or computer program such as MP3 maker to eventually turn into a normal (MP3 or non-MP3) format? And can wireless mode be turned off, so it is not operative? I do not like receiving dangerous Electromagnetic Radiation.

You can connect an external CD player with regular analog RCA, Optical or Coaxial Digital. The sound should be great no matter how you connect it, as long as you have good speakers. It does have a digital to analog converter, but CD sound is near perfect on it's own. You can connect a phonograph turntable but you will need an external phono pre-amp or a turntable that has one built in. You would need to record the lp songs to a computer file first, with a separate device, then transfer to this unit if you like. The WiFi does not need to be conected. If it's not connected it is off.
