Powerful and compact, the Mintaka 8020 HC Maxi Daylight DMX LED is recommended for low-ceiling television sets and photo or video studios requiring professional quality, well-distributed illumination from diffuse key lights. The light can be used with an optional Fresnel lens or without the Fresnel attachment for maximum open-face-type flood coverage or for long-throw or sharp-shadow effects.
The Mintaka 8020 HC is especially valuable in locations where the sole source of light comes from fixtures meant for industrial use without a consideration of color temperature and clean flicker-free power. On the other hand, a set of 3-6 Mintaka 8020s is also ideal for corporate and web TV, architectural lighting in foyers, lofts, and restaurants, or conference rooms in hotels. The light can be controlled locally or remotely via onboard DMX with an optional lighting console. The Mintaka 8020 HC Maxi ships with 4-way barndoors and a head-to-power-supply cord. The AC power supply itself must be purchased separately. Other power options include optional 12-16V batteries.
The external design of the body is based on a study of the open-face Fresnel composite optical units. The aim was to create a fixture that employs mirrors and lenses to create a luminaire with threefold use: Soft, Hard, and Key lighting
The design's functional flexibility makes the light a natural for everything from News (ENG) to field production (EFP) and Studio work, alone or in multi-unit kits. Thanks to onboard DMX, multiple lights can be controlled from a centrally located console
Housing Color Options for Architectural Use
The housing consists of 3 modules in a standard silver and black finish. Each module can be custom-colored to match the environment in which the light is being used
Construction Materials and Cooling
Uneven or inadequate cooling can actually affect the color and consistent output of a fixture. The Mintaka's central module is a quick-cooling, ribbed heat sink. Mirrors, lenses and the finish get the same scrupulous attention
The Mintaka Maxi's design stresses mobility and stands up to rigorous, constant use. It is highly resistant to dust and rain (splash proof)
The Mintaka's LEDs are carefully selected and calibrated for professional television applications. Rather than use off-the-shelf led arrays, Ianiro designs its own internal circuitry and as well as mechanics and mirrors that are optimized for use with LEDs that make the grade. Both high-output and standard arrays are used in the same fixture for operational ease in functions like dimming
Ianitronic: A Department Entirely Dedicated to Design and Prototyping
The electronics of illuminators are all constructed in-house in a department dedicated to LED design and prototyping. The critical components that make up Ianiro's PCBs are all branded and Rohs-compliant
