Hissatsu Folder Tactical Knife | by James Williams
James Williams designed the black CRKT Hissatsu Folding Knife for times when a military special operations or security professional are in environments where they need to be discreet to ensure their own safety. It features a full edge 3.9" modified tanto blade, offering a neo-Samurai look, made from AUS 8 stainless steel with a matte-black finish to reduce reflection.
The Hissatsu is equipped with the proprietary Outburst assisted opening and AutoLAWKS systems. Using the ambidextrous thumb disk the blade is moved out of the handle, and as it moves past 20-30° the OutBurst system takes over to assist the blade to the fully open position. When opened, a liner lock moves into position behind the blade to lock it in place for safe use. With the blade open, the AutoLAWKS system is engaged to add another level of safety by moving a pin into place behind the blade to act as a second lock. To close the blade, a lever needs to be pulled back before the liner lock can by moved out of position.
For comfort and sure-handling, the handle is constructed of fiberglass-reinforced nylon to be lightweight, and temperature and impact resistant. Its temperature-resistance allows the handle to remain a comfortable temperature in cold and wet weather. At 5" closed, and 5.8oz, the Hissatsu can be comfortably carried without excessive bulk or weight. Its two-position stainless steel clip enables tip-up carrying on either the right or left side.
