Manfrotto XPRO Ball head with MSQ6PL Plate Reviews

Too light

It's very pretty and has lots of features, but it's too light for most of my work. I'll save it for the next trip as a tourist. I intend to mount it on a Platypod and use it with lens like my 24-70mm. It should work well with that.

Love it

Finally replaced my old Manfrotto tripod head with the arca type head. Love my Manfrotto tripod but wanted something a bit easier to attach/remove as well as to utilize a nodal slide. This works just fine.

GREAT PRODUCT!

This manfrotto ball is great and easy to use. More important is light to travel with paired with my Manfrotto tripod. I use to buy other brands but, now I have a new favorite.

Wonderful Ball Head

I have been looking for a great tripod head for years. I was always unhappy with something about every head I researched. I finally saw this one and took a chance on it. I love it. The tension knob has a beautiful click that gives you some feedback on how tight you are making the tension on the ball. It is easy to turn the knobs with their leverage style handles. I have been very happy with it. It is solid, well thought out and easy to use without looking at it. Great job Manfrotto!

Perfect for small jobs

This head is versatile and perfect for smaller jobs like using it on a slider or mirror less. The ball head is a little rough however and not as smooth as I would like, but this is very minimal. If you need something strong and small this gets it done

10/10: high stability, smooth movement, and intuitive use

I bought this head because the one I had been using had constant issues with stability and camera slippage when shooting in portrait. After a little under a month of use, I can say with 100% confidence that this thing is a rock solid beast. It is extremely stable (even with my heaviest lens mounted on my camera while in portrait), very smooth, and highly intuitive. The price point is obviously high -- but you get a phenomenal bang for your buck.

Great ball head. With just a small counterclockwise turn you can adjust the camera smoothly. A small turn back and it is securely help in place. Excellent piece of equipment!

What does the small red button near the top of the head do? Thanks.
Asked by: Steven
On the Q6 version of the tripod head that uses Arca-compatible quick release plates, the red button on the quick release clamp of the Manfrotto XPRO Magnesium Ball Head with MSQ6PL Quick Release Plate is designed to be depressed to release the retaining pin which prevents the quick release plate from accidentally sliding off, allowing you to remove the camera and quick release plate from the tripod head.
