Sensei FWM-4855 overview

  • 1Description

If you've ever had difficulty removing a filter from your lens, these Sensei Rubberized 48-55mm Filter Wrenches can help save the day. Two steel wrenches that each features a fully-rubberized surface are included with this set. Both wrenches may also be used to separate up to two stacked filters on a single lens. This can be accomplished by using one wrench to hold the filter closest to the lens in place and using the other wrench to unscrew the other filter. Along with long handles and a squeeze-type design, their rubberized surfaces further ensure comfort and provide an enhanced grip for ease of use. These wrenches are compatible with filters ranging from 48-55mm in diameter.

48-55mm Rubberized Filter Wrench (2-Pack) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have item. Though a bit more expensive than the plastic versions, these will easily outlast the plastic wrenches which will break after a few years- it is the nature of plastic,, and this style is actually a little easier to use too due to the rubberized handles. The rubberized steel allows you to grasp the threads of a step up ring easily without risking damage to the threads. And anyone who has fought with the thin edge of a polarizing filter on an adpter, or on a lens will find this style of wrench much easier to use. Plus it does not slip, so could handle more readily a filter with damaged threads. If you use a number of filters with step adapters, you will likely want to get the multiple sizes to cover the range of the filters you have, or are going to get- you will not regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best thing since sliced bread. I had tried everything, including countless suggestions (some of them pretty crazy) on YouTube videos. My polarizing filter was truly stuck on my lens, and I thought I would have to get a new lens. Then, I got these. It took me all of about 5 seconds to get the filter off of the lens. These are obviously designed by someone who has confronted this problem before. Rubberizing them is a brilliant move. Thanks so much for this excellent solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not often thought of, but critical piece of gear It's going to happen, at some point your going to have 2 similar size step rings or filters that get stuck (especially on cheaper lenses that have plastic filter threads). Don't risk damaging your equipment, have these on hand to do the job properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best tools ever made for filter removal I love this tool! I stacked two 48 mm filters together for use on a 2 eyepiece, not a camera. Both were German made but of different manufacturers. The threads fit perfectly but one had a scalloped outer edge that made removal from the other very difficult. I ended up replacing one of the filters before I found this tool, offered as an accessory for the filter I bought. To use, you really do need to thread the filters back on to the either the camera lens or the eyepiece. Attempting to remove one filter from the other while hand held was not going to work. Once I thread them back on to the eyepiece, removing the outer lens was super simple and took little effort. No damage occurred to either filter, outer case of the filters or the eyepiece. A brilliant must have tool set. The wrenches come conveniently in a two pack. A must as well. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should do the job if needed. In the spirit of full disclosure, I recently received four different sizes of this filter wrench (to cover the lenses I own) and I have not used them. I hope never to have to use them because that would mean that I had the misfortune of having to deal with a stuck filter. I bought these against the possibility that they might be needed at some point in the future. Having said that, they do seem appropriate for the purpose. I have seen no flaws in the construction of these, they are made of metal rather than plastic, which should be more durable, they are coated in rubber which I expect to improve the grip of the tool and reduce the chance of damage to the filter, or, heaven forfend, damage to one of my lenses. And, they are sold in pairs which I think is useful because, I keep a clear filter on all of my lenses all the time for a little protection and, when I use an image altering filter it is added on top. A stuck filter would, in this case, need two tools to remove. I'm hoping they will serve me well should I need them. If you buy them, I wish the same for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great tool My step up ring had become stuck on the filter attached to it. Nothing else worked, and I had to acknowledge that it would likely happen again. Worked well and solved the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful in some cases! In some cases, very useful when two filtres are jammed together.
