Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad batch of cards? I bought one of these along with my A7RII last year when it first came out, and have been using it to shoot 4K in XAVC S 100M video format without any issues at all. So a couple of weeks ago I bought another 3 of these for a large upcoming video project. None of the cards work. I keep getting the error message Cannot record in this recording setting. Either switch to a UHS-1 U3 compatible memory card or change the file format. from the camera. These cards are UHS-1 (U3) and should work fine, and the first one I purchased last year never had problems like this. I'll be returning them and get something that works as specified.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High capacity, high speed My camera's manufacturer says it can only address 64GB, however another company was advertizing 256GB cards for it as proven to work. After my camera formated it it worked fine, and my laptop reads it as 256GB, so the camera may not really be limited to smaller cards. This chip is capable or being written twice as fast as my camera is able to write, so the combination will work to permit taking pictues as rapidly as possible. With a chip this large, it is hard to imagine a combination of video and pictures filling it on a single vacation. This will hold almost 3 solid days of bluray quality video.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Price, but Not Reliable For the price (compared to other 256gb's in the same speed class) this is a great card but I have had the write error that others complained about. I'm using it with a Panasonic GH4 and I've only had one error so far after shooting about 10 time lapses (RAW at 2-4 second intervals), plenty of 4K (100mb) in both 24 and 30p as well as 1080 60p (200mb) and cinema 24p (a total of 2-3hrs, mostly 20 second to 3 minute clips). When it comes to shooting something like a wedding or event/seminar I will use a 32 or 64gb Sandisk because I don't want to risk a corrupted file after shooting a half hour (or longer) clip. If I'm shooting B-Roll or just testing or shooting for fun I will continue to use this card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well This is the second I've bought in the last year. Used on a GH4 for 4k video. Never had a problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not supported with Sony 4K cameras Cheap memory, but is not compatible with my Sony 4k camera. What a let down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Fast enough to record RAW or Pro-Res 422 HQ on the BMPCC Was hoping to use this for Raw cinema DNG on my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera but it is not fast enough. Its OK for normal Pro Res 422 which gives heaps of recording time but if you need to shoot higher than that this is not the card to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't bother with PNY I wanted to use as additional storage for MBP laptop, but it has never worked... First card would not write data at all. B&H replaced it promptly with a second card, which wrote files on first use. Then it would not read those same files on second use. It would not take a re-format on either Mac or PC. It was an expensive brick. Time went by, then two separate attempts in contacting PNY customer service for a replacement card resulted in NO RESPONSE from PNY. This was my first and last PNY purchase. I recommend Sandisk or Lexar - both of which I've had great success with long-term.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine for D500 4k Video Bought this to expand storage for the huge 4K video files produced by my D500. It works great for this, and at the most affordable price. I compared the speed between this PNY 95 MB U3 card and my favorite SanDisk 64GB U3 cards using h2testw.exe, which I trust and have verified its results in actual use with NEF files. The SanDisk cards win handily in write speed. The PNY is fast enough for my application, however, and was purchased for about a quarter the price! PNY WRITE: 49.2 MB/s. Read: 79 MB/s SanDisk WRITE: 78.3 MB/s. Read: 81.1 MB/s Watching actual file transfers in Win10 shows similar numbers, but with huge variations as the operating system gets distracted with other tasks. For video recording, this PNY card is sufficiently fast and economical. If your application is for raw file recording with a small buffer camera (like the D7100), the faster write speed of the SanDisk U3 cards is valuable.
