The 802.3af/at PoE Injector from ZyXEL contains a single-port, which delivers both power and data to other PoE devices via a single CAT-5 Ethernet cable. The injector allows data transmission at 1000 Mb/s and delivers power of up to 30W. It's especially suitable for advanced powered devices (PD) like MIMO access points or pan-tilt-zoom cameras that consume relatively more power.
PoE is a standard-based technology that specifies how power is distributed along with data on standard Ethernet LAN cables. The standard specifies IEEE 802.3af providing up to 15.4W of power per device and IEEE 802.3at providing up to 30W per device. Complying with the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at
standards, the injector offers interoperability and compatibility with other standard-based PoE devices.
With PoE technology, the injector enables users to place devices such as wireless LAN APs, IP surveillance cameras and IP phones exactly where they are needed. Since the devices are directly powered through Ethernet cables, there is no need to have separate power supplies or install AC power sockets on ceilings or roof spaces.
The injector is easy to use and needs no configuration. Since only inbound and outbound cable plugs are required, the installation is very straightforward and can be performed by users without any prior experience with electrical wiring.
