Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as Happy as I Might Be I've used both cheap and expensive step rings. This is in the middle and I'm not sure that it's enough of an improvement over cheap to justify the cost difference. Yes, it's metal, but it's aluminum, not brass. Yes, it's good aluminum, well-threaded, but still subject to deformation. It appears to be about 4mm thick so that's nice, though I could stand it if it was a mm thinner. At least it's not 5mm! Yes, it has knurling on it, but it's at the top of the ring rather than on the sides. This is kind of strange, because really I'm more concerned with a filter binding to the ring than I am about the ring binding to the lens, but the knurling seems to be more geared to being sure you can remove it from the lens rather than remove a filter from the ring. Yes, indeed, I have experienced a small bind which took a rubber band to get off. Not a cross-thread, just an apparently-screwed-on-too-tight polarizer. But for the price, that's not the behavior I expected from a B+W product. If you're an equipment snob, it says B+W in bold letters on the side. You can look good as you fight with it. :-) B+W makes some wonderful products, but IMO this is a cheap step ring with an expensive name on the side. Hmm, well, it does come with a very nice case for it. The best thing I can say is that if I bought another one, I'd expect it to be exactly the same. Predictability has a certain charm. Such cannot always be said about cheaper step rings. So, yes, four stars and I would indeed recommend it to a friend with the caveats as noted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Useful I use this on my Nikon 20mm 2.8 lens. I have all professional 77mm filters and this lens uses the awkward size 62mm filters. This B&W step up ring is not plastic and seems to get the job done. One complaint is that if I screw a filter just slightly too tight, I have to remove the step up ring from the lens to seperate the filter from the ring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Money DO NOT skimp on step rings! If you use a generic ring, you will be extremely frustrated when your filter or close up lens gets stuck on! It can take an hour to separate them after sitting in your vehicle with the heater cranked and sweat running off your face. If you buy junk you will buy twice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT GERMAN QUALITY! I've built a collection of 77mm filters to fit on most of my Nikon lenses. I have a couple of lenses that are 62mm, so I ordered the Step-up ring to use my filters on the smaller lenses. The B+H step-up ring works perfectly. Great German quality, great B&H price ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great idea use this on 62mm 20mm lens- to step up from 62 to 77mm - it widens the edge of the lens and no worry about any edge glare wide open at 2.8 - got the idea from ken rockwell on his website - works great - thanks B&H ...- norm

Rated 3 out of 5 by from For Nikon 105 Micro 2.8G VR It works well but it feels very light. It is a great fit on the Nikon 105 lens and looks like it came from Nikon that way. But the problem is it is very light and I don't trust it to stay on permenantly. I would have prefered the Heliopan brass version but it is twice as much. If you are going to leave it on the lens then I recommend the Heliopan but otherwise the B+W is a better value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality Accy Not much to say, good quality, easy to thread on and off, better than the cheaper ones with can cross-thread very easily. Easily worth the minor price difference.
