    72-77mm Step-Up Ring is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 102.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simplify and Maximize your Filter Usage It does not make sense buying different filters to accommodate different lens sizes. This product simplifies your accessories, and saves you money! Great built and firm mount. You get what you pay for! The only disadvantage is, you need to change your lens cover too to accommodate the 77 mm size of the step up ring. If you want to remove the step up ring after using the filter, then you dont have a problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves on cost of two filters I bought this step-up ring to save me having to buy a 77mm and a 72mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing (MRC) Filter. The ring is very well built. Remember to buy a lens 77mm cap for when you use a 77mm filter on a 72mm lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save on Filters I bought this so I can use my 77mm filters on a lens that uses 72mm filters. It saves buying another set of filters, which can be pricey in the larger sizes. B+W filters and rings don't seem to seize up like some of the cheaper ones do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from B+W step-up ring is quality B+W makes everything very well, including this step-up ring. Easy to screw together and very sturdy. It may cost twice as much as a standard step-up ring, but its well worth the extra cost.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent but Expensive Adequate, but Pricey I had been using Fotodiox adapter rings and have had quiet a bit of trouble with the threads jamming. From all the comments I'd seen related to that issue it seemed the reasons were low quality construction and aluminum composition. Reviews of the B+H rings seem universally good, and one reviewer even said it was due to their brass construction. So I decided to switch to B+W Step up rings because of their brass construction figuring that brass is less likely to bind than is aluminum and that using the same metal for both filter and ring eliminates the problem of dissimilar metals (some of my filters are B+H and eventually all non-B+H filters will be replaced). When the rings arrived I noticed they were very light and appeared almost indistinguishable from my Fotodiox rings. At that point I wrote to B+W to verify the metal used since it isn't specifically stated in the product descriptions even in the B+H web catalogue. I was told that they are made of aluminum. I used my 72 to 77 mm step up ring yesterday for the first time, being careful to tighten it only to the point that it will not unscrew itself. But no matter, at the end of the shoot, I had to resort to filter wrenches to separate the B+H ring from my Hoya HMC filter. Not an auspicious beginning. So, I give the rings only 3 stars. They do the job, but thus far not any better than other aluminum filter rings costing less than 1/3 as much. For the price of these filters, I think they should have been brass. Had I known they were aluminum I wouldn't have bought them. In the future I'll be more careful to verify specs before I order. Perhaps my first experience was a fluke and future use will be without incident. If that happens, I'll come back and update this review

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Build could be better. I really wish B+W would use brass in their step up rings like they do their filters. But, it gets the job done in allowing me to mount my 77mm filters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and Easy To Use With the high cost of quality filters, I can't afford to own a set of filters (ND, Polarizing, etc.) for each of my lenses. Instead, I purchase and use B+W step up rings to allow use of larger filters with smaller lens fitting diameters. Using step up (instead of step down) rings ensures that the lens will be completely covered by the adapted filter. B+W rings are consistent in quality, durability, and usefulness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from smooth as butter beautifully cut threads spun on filter and lens first attempt. No hang.
