Eve Room Wireless Indoor Sensor is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good low cost wireless monitor for shiitake greenhouse I purchased the Elgato Eve room sensor to monitor temperature, humidity and CO2 in a small greenhouse setup used to fruit blocks of king oyster, lion's mane and shiitake mushrooms. I wanted something battery operated, durable (withstand high humidity environments) and with wireless access to an iPhone or tablet for remote monitoring. This unit looked like it had all 3 for a cost < < $100 US. Setup - download the Eve app to your phone, tablet or computer. The unit connects with Apple'S home kit but the monitoring is better with the app. It wasn't quite plug-and play with the app, had to install the apple home kit, do a firmware update and then play with it a bit. I ended up emailing their tech support, believe they're based in a Europe. Did this before going to bed and had an answer in the morning - apple kit also needed an update that the setup scripts hadn't flagged. Use - straightforward snapshot of conditions and can scroll over time or select date ranges. No clear option to export data, which might eventually be nice to more specifically track conditions with yields. Within apple's home kit looks like there could be options to drive actions based on readings, e.g. Turn on humidifier based on humidity reading, but I haven't played with these. I'll note the VOC monitor does not give an explicit CO2 reading - their advertising showing VOC and CO2 charts was a little misleading. And like other CO2 meters it doesn't give accurate readings at high humidity, >90%. I suspected such might be the case and only consider the VOC reading in periodic dry points in the chamber when I let humidity get down to 85%. There I'm looking for the VOCs to fall to < 1000ppm as an indication airflow is doing its job. Manual reading with a Titan Atlas5 CO2 meter show is generally within +/- 10%, so is sufficient to verify CO2 isn't building up. Standard home users won't have this problem, assuming you're operating with normal home humidities < < 90%.
