960GB Extreme 900 Portable SSD is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent drive The combination of 2 SSDs (raid 0) allow the unit to deliver super high rates of speed and it is extremely portable, lightweight and quiet! But beware: 850mb/s is only when you're using a USB-C 2gen connection. But... I'm using this drive with Retina Macbook 2016, with Apple (bad) USB-C to USB-A/AV Adapter, and editing a 4K videoclip on FCPX. All videos were recorded with a 5K res RED. Sometimes I have six multicam (in proxy) playing smooth and without any problems. I confess I am surprised with both the MacBook and this SanDisk external SSD. Will buy the 2tb version when receiving another price drop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Fast I have only used the drive 2 or 3 times thus far but it is remarkably fast. I was able to transfer over 35 gigs in maybe 3 minutes...so yeah it's noticeably fast. I can't speak to much else as I haven't had it long but it's light yet feels durable and so far has proved worthwhile. I plan to use it for video editing so once I get to use it more I will provide an update.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Unmatchable I highly recommend the 2TB (1.92GB) and the 1TB (960GB), it is worth the price, actually I'm surprised that it is priced at that rate! It must be more expensive, you need the latest USB 3.1 Gen2 to get the full speed, but even when using USB 3.0 its read/write speed goes up to 500 Mbps!! Truly amazing, and the build quality is premium-- high quality and sleek, and there is almost no weight to it-- it is very very very light, both; the 2TB and 1TB. I will buy more of these very soon, especially the 2TB one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Speed I use this drive for two main purposes. 1) Backup. 2) It holds the data for my FCPX files and RAW files I use to retouch and enhance. The speed of the this drive with my MacPro is amazing. Is it expensive, maybe, but I have never wished to go back to USB anything now that I have this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Speed without non USB c 3.1 gen 2 346MB/s read 330MB/s write Drive works as advertised. But if you are not future proofing or do not have usb c 3.1 gen 2, look at getting https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1295922-REG/glyph_technologies_a1000blk_atom_1tb_ssd_usb_c.html or https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1217670-REG/samsung_mu_pt1t0b_am_1tb_t3_portable_solid.html?sts=pi Also remember if using and portable drive for any cell phone or Mac it has to be exfat formatted or FAT32 (can do in Windows OS in disk management.) Would advise NTFS for Windows OS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, small, performs great So far, this is great for 4K video editing using Premiere Pro and a 2016 MacBook Pro. So much faster than any external drive I have. Super happy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not even close to 50% theoretical speed I use thunderbolt 3 from Dell XPS 15.6 4K model to test this drive Read reach only 240 mb/s and write around 350 mb/s. They are far below the 850 mb/s speed.
