question

I was under the impression that this paper was no longer available due to bankruptcy issues at Ilford. Has production restarted for this great paper? Appreciate any comments.Thanks.Len

So the good news is, a few business people got together and re opened Ilford, and are working on getting the company back on track. But they are not coming out with the hole line, just a select number of products. This is one of them. We are expected to have them in soon.

question

Is this new paper the replacement of the now discontinued smooth super high gloss ? Does it have same characteristics or is it entirely new ?
Asked by: Luis M.
Glossy inkjet is a type of paper that shines by nature. When light falls on such paper it is either reflected parallelly or at an angle. With metallic paper a sheet of mylar is kept between the printing paper and the emulsion. So there's no real comparison. Metallic is far superior for a 3D look. That being said Gloss doesn't change the image effect as does metallic and the colors can be a bit more accurate.

question

Hi, what media type should i use with an epson p600 printer?. the icc profile says eam media type, but i dont know what it means. The ilford website did not answer my question, this is why i am asking here. Thanks.
Asked by: Drago S.
EAM stands for Epson Archival Matte. This is the correct media type choice for this printer. To download the ICC profile for the Ilford GALERIE Prestige Textured Cotton Rag Paper, go to this link: http://bit.ly/1RPJYVb

question

Is this paper buffered?
Asked by: Christine
Buffered? Cars are buffered, floors are buffered, and its impression on printing paper leave imperceptibly wide circular swaths of smoothness. But this shiny smoothness, with its hint of grain, is not buffered. Its classic fibre gloss.

question

I am using this paper for the first time. Upon opening the box I discovered I was unsure as to which side was the print side. One side is smooth, one feels like a slight texture. I was guessing the texture was print side, but unsure. What is the easiest way to tell.
Asked by: Anonymous
The side that has the semigloss (slightly sheen and textured) finish is the side you print on.
