Glidecam HD2000RB overview

  • 1Description

The Glidecam HD2000 is a lightweight, hand-held camcorder stabilizing system. This system is upgraded from the 2000 Pro and offers fine adjustments and an improved gimbal and balance system.

Camera stabilization systems like this one work to provide camera stability during movement for dynamic and subjective camera shots. It utilizes a balancing system that dampens the user's body movement, providing a smooth, floating moving image appearance usually achieved with more expensive equipment.

Upgrades from 2000 Pro
This system is upgraded in its gimbal movement and adjustment of convergence and camera balance.
No Tools
A no tool telescoping central post allows for precision balance and easy adjustment.

    Glidecam HD2000RB reviews

HD2000 Stabilizer System is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 346.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from If you shoot video you need this The Glidecam is a necessary piece of equipment if you are shooting video. The material used is all high quality metal. It feels strong and supportive. When first getting it you may have some trouble balancing it but after using it for a while you'll be able to balance your camera in less than 3-5 minutes if that. I would recommend this product. Well worth the price considering gimbals are upwards of 2 grand. If you are going to buy this I would highly consider buying the quick release plate. If you ever need to take the camera off of the glidecam it only takes about 3 seconds. If you dont have the quick release plate it can take a minute or two

Rated 5 out of 5 by from efn awesome!! I use this with my 7d and 16-35mm lens, and got the manfrotto quick connect as people described, I took me awhile of practice to learn and understand how the glidecam works... out of the box first time user it works really well, but I noticed my glides weren't as good as I expected, with only two weights on each side and poste extended out alot, I recently added more weight, now 3 on each side and made the post shortened all the way up, and it made a massive difference, I could run without controlling it with my hand hand and it stay very stable on roll axis, compared to less weight. I know it suks for all you softcocks, but the more weight the better these babies work, and it has to perfectly dead vertical on the roll' axis which is side ways left and right...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a Necessity I use this in the studio, at family events, at various pro gigs, and I really love just being out exploring with it. Best investment so far. Everyone here is telling genuine truth...PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. If you keep pushing, the ROI will greatly over-shadow the cost. Don't think...just buy....and DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!!! You see that sick footage other creatives have gotten with this? They hit the same wall at some point, it's normal, just don't give up. **if you're still on the fence about it, find me on Instagram (@jeprioleau). I've posted short clips I've taken with this model, could help you decide. Cheers!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3 mos. later... so far so good. A fantastic handheld stabilizer. Admittedly, I'm still getting used to the HD2000's ergonomics and balancing. Like all stabilizers I've used - balancing is very tricky, but I'm getting better at it. Sprinkle in a little warp stabilizer in Premiere CC and you've got a much more stable, fluid shot than you could ever expect to get on the GH4 without a shoulder mount or electronic gimbal. My only previous experience with a handheld stabilizer is the Ronin-M. So perhaps I should have tempered my expectations when it came to the HD2000. But then, the Ronin-M will cost you another thousand and isn't really well suited for the wet, cold outdoor conditions I often find myself shooting in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect gear for videos The Glidecam HD2000 was a perfect add for my gear. At first, when i unpacked it, i noticed that all the parts were perfectly wrapped so it's impossible to have a broken or damaged part. The user manuel is perfectly described details by details. Once you have configured you're Glidecam, you're ready to go! I received my glidecam and need to use it the next day. It was difficult at the beginning but once it's well balanced, you're fine. It improved big time all of my movies and add such a quality. It's very fluid. The only thing i didn't like is the leverage. Mine was so tight so when i level up or down, it created some scratches on the bottom post..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to set up ! Don't get scared with all the reviews saying that this product is hard ( even impossible ) to balance, it's really easy ! Just need to take your time to get the perfect balance, took me like 30 minutes. Then you will have to get use to the movements. It's not a kid's toy, it's a professional tool so of course it will have some challenges ! Amazing product, great quality build, looks really nice. The only downside like everyone is saying, the weight ! You will not be able to shoot an entire day, but anyway the steady cam is useful only in certain situations, not full length video ( most of the times )

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works as it was advertised but the parts look old and used Was so excited to get this and have been waiting aniously. I really wanted to give this product a 5 star but unfortunately I just got unlucky. The glidecam that I got seemed like it was just taken from maybe the worst pile of the equipment. the lower shaft's paint already came off and you could see the metal (alluminum). The whole thing was quite dusty and the screws were rusted. I can't take it back because I need this for my project and it is very urgent. I gave it two stars because it functions well, but it looks like it was beaten up. (I will pload the photo once I'll have time. I already cleaned the dust off but the aluminum is revealed)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant results I just got one, and after taking a few hours to figure out how to balance it, I instantly noticed how much smoother my shots were, and I've yet to really learn how to use one. Here's a very good tip on choosing the right Glidecam. Both the tech support at Glidecam as well as a very experience Glidecam operator told me that these rigs work BEST near the MAX weight. So for an HD2000 (6lbs max weight), the sweet spot is btw. 5 to 6 lbs. I weighed my 60D down with a Glidecam weight plate + accessories and it equaled 5.5 lbs. It felt very robust at that weight than when it was lighter. Also, once your figure out how to balance it the first time, after that it's pretty easy to do.
