The M222 Talk Box is an effect pedal from MXR that allows you to play notes on an instrument and shape the sounds with your mouth. Although it was originally designed for use with electric guitar, the Talk Box can also be used with other instruments such as electric bass guitar and keyboards.
Using a mouth tube to shape the notes as you play, the Talk Box has a sound that is part vocoder and part wah. The M222 has been updated and fine-tuned for modern gigging convenience and tone sculpting while maintaining the sonic character that made the effect legendary. Unlike most older talk box pedals, the M222 has its own amp and speaker driver built inside of its enclosure, so you don't have to lug around a separate rig or patch into your amp's speaker output.
The M222 features volume and tone controls, and a gain control to adjust the built-in MXR distortion circuit which can add texture to your talk box voice for maximum impact. There is a footswitch to toggle the effect on and off, and a blue LED that illuminates when the effect is on.
The M222 Talk Box is contained in a sturdy road-ready housing with 1/4" input and output jacks to connect the pedal to your rig. A footswitch toggles the effect on and off, and a blue LED illuminates when the effect is on. The pedal includes an 8' surgical tube, a mic stand clip, and an 18V power supply.
