The CSP-026 '74 Vintage Phase 90 from MXR is a recreation of the original hand-wired phase shifter pedal with select resistors paired with hand-matched FETs (Field Effects Transistors). The actual pedal used for reference belongs to Dunlop Senior Engineer, Bob Cedro, who purchased it new in 1974, the year it was introduced. He carefully spec'd his original pedal in order to use the same components in this reissue for an authentic sound. No modern features were added.
The '74 Vintage Phase 90 comes housed in a classic orange box that features the unmistakable Script logo MXR used between 1974 and 1977. It is built with Switchcraft 1/4" input and output jacks, and has a Carling footswitch to turn the effect on or off. A single Speed knob regulates the overall effect rate and can be set to achieve a wide range of tonal textures. The Phase 90 can add a shimmery velocity to lead lines and a dramatic swooshing or warbling effect to strummed chords. It can be used with electric guitar, bass, keyboards, and even works well for vocals.
The '74 Vintage Phase 90 is powered by a single 9V battery. This authentic recreation looks, sounds, and is wired just like the original from 1974.
