Casio CGP-700 overview

  • 1Description

The black CGP-700 from Casio is a compact grand piano that has a six-speaker sound system, 550 different tones, 200 ensemble rhythms, and a Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action II 88-note keyboard. It can be used in applications such as for home, live stage, recording studios, and more.

The CGP-700 is loaded with impressive features, starting with the 5.3" color touchscreen. Navigating through the tones and rhythms with touch and swipe gestures is a breeze. It also has a Grand Piano button, which gets you to the grand piano sound instantly. The transpose buttons allow you to quickly shift to a different key. In addition, you'll find instant settings to adjust the piano for rock, jazz, classical, and other styles to suit your needs.

Some other features include a USB port to connect to a PC, Mac, or other devices such as an iPad. The CGP-700 has both MIDI and USB audio recorders. Then transfer your recordings to a computer to share your music. There is a powerful effects system with reverbs, delays, and other add-ons such as rotary speakers for organs and phasers for electric pianos. Select one of the 200 ensemble rhythms, which can accompany your playing with a backing band which reacts to the chords that you play.

Furthermore, the CGP-700 is suitable for any educational environment. Duet Mode splits the keyboard into two equal ranges, so two people can play side by side on one instrument. An additional Classroom Mode splits the keyboard and configures the audio outputs to work with third party piano lab systems. The front panel also has two headphone jacks for a teacher and student.

Finally, the CGP-700 delivers an authentic sound and feel with its six-speaker sound system and Tri-Sensor Scaled Action keyboard. An SP-3 sustain pedal, a stand, and an AC adapter are included.

6 Speakers
The CGP-700 has four speakers in the top panel, and two low-frequency speakers in its included stand, with a total of 40 watts of power. Whether you're enjoying the 9-foot concert grand piano, playing along with the built-in rhythms, or listening to your MP3 player via the stereo aux input, the 3-way speaker system fills the room with sound
Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard
Casio's Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action II 88-note keyboard accurately recreates the touch and response of a concert grand piano with 127 times the resolution of traditional keyboards. Suitable for the most demanding pianist, this keyboard also enables beginning players to develop proper playing technique
World-Class Piano Sounds
The CGP-700's 9-foot concert grand piano sound is as impressive as it is thanks to a meticulous recording session using over two dozen microphones for audio capture. The result is an expressive concert grand piano that can be used in stereo or mono, and even includes damper resonance simulation
Sounds, Rhythms, and More
The CGP-700 goes far beyond piano, with 550 different instrument tones. You'll find a variety of guitars, strings, basses, drums, synths, and more. There is also a powerful effects system with reverbs, delays, and other essential add-ons such as rotary speakers for organs, and phasers for electric pianos
Keep your Creations
When you are inspired, it's quick and easy to record your performance. The CGP-700 includes both MIDI and USB audio recorders. Transfer your recordings easily to a computer to share your music

    Casio CGP-700 reviews

CGP-700 - Compact Grand Piano with Stand & Pedal (Black) is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Casio CGP 700 I hate it!! In order to place the piano on a stand, two of the speakers have to be disconnected and then it sounds terrible. The rhythms are practically useless. The texture of the keys are terrible. Some of the selection buttons are too close together so you need very small fingers to keep from touching the wrong buttons. Many are the tones sound identical. The Casio 575r is a much better unit. I would have never bought this 700 if I could have found someone to fix my 575r
