Fraser Optics 07007-700-1-C Overview

  • 1Description

Designed to observate from unstable viewing platforms on the ground, in the air, or at sea, Fraser Optics' 10x40 Bylite Image-Stabilized Binocular is a fully multi-coated optical device built withstand long-term use in demanding weather conditions with rugged slip-resistant armoring and a housing that is waterproof, submersible, and buoyant. The housing is made of a lightweight polycarbonate material that is designed to reduce weight and user fatigue for long-duration observation, while adding corrosion, temperature, and impact resistance.

This binocular uses gyro stabilization technology to correct up to 98% of image motion caused by hand tremor and platform motion. As the optical housing pitches and/or rolls, the gyro mechanism compensates for the motion by mechanically orienting the prisms in the opposite direction. This process of stabilization occurs in real time and corrects motion on the pitch and roll axes within 8°. It can run for up to 9 continuous hours on single CR123 battery, and an optional external power pack is available for extended use. A hard protective carrying case is included.

Optical Performance
  • 10x magnification
  • 40mm objective lenses
  • Compact roof prism optical path
  • Anti-reflection MgFI2 fully multi-coated lenses for enhanced light transmission
  • 223' field of view at 1000 yards
  • 43° apparent angle of view
Stabilizing System
  • Up to 98% reduction of image motion
  • Proprietary STEDI-EYE gyro-stabilization system
  • Prisms are mounted on a platform (gimbal) that can swivel independently of the rest of the binocular to reduce hand-shake
  • ±8° stabilization freedom
  • Resolution: 4.3 arc seconds
  • 8°/sec scan rate
