ZEISS Terra ED 8x25 Overview

Sleek and stylish with gray body and black accents, ZEISS's 8x25 Terra ED Compact Binoculars give you a competent and compact optic that fits easily in the palm of your hand and looks good while they are there. A combination of technologies works together to produce bright and clear images with increased contrast and true color rendition. They include Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms, SCHOTT extra-low dispersion (ED) glass, and anti-reflection fully multicoated optics. The Terra ED is offered here in an 8x power, which provides a nice general-purpose magnification with a generous field of view.

The lightweight housing is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed, enabling them to withstand use in wet and snowy weather, and the rubberized armor offers protection from impacts while providing a slip-resistant grip. The Terra's double-hinge closed-bridge design allows them to fold compactly for an easy fit in most pockets or packs, while the knurled center focus wheel enables fast focusing. Twist-up eyecups make them comfortable to use with or without eyewear.

It's great for indoor and outdoor. However, due to the binocular's small objective, it's not ideal in low light condition.

Do generic lens covers exist that fit the Zeiss 8x25 binoculars? I understand that this question was raised earlier, but perhaps a secondary market has cropped up in the meantime.
Asked by: James
Thanks to John for his reply to my question. Using calipers I measured the Outer Diameter of the front and back of my just arrived Zeiss Terra Pocket (25 mm) binoculars. Back OD is 33.5 mm, front OD is 35 mm. So any 34 mm lens cap will fit both ends of these binoculars. B&H should know about this.

Asked by: Nathan
The box containing the pair I purchased state Germany as the country of origin. As these are an Xmas gift, I'll have to wait until the box is opened to see if that is true.
