Turn your guitar into an analog-style synth with the Boss SY-300. This pedal offers three synth engines and a multitude of effects to launch your axe into synthy styles suitable for prog, fusion, and other styles of music. Choose from eight fundamental waveforms, such as sine, saw, and triangle, and then add tone color using up to 21 editable effects. Furthermore, you can make use of synth-style modulators, such as LFOs, to process your existing guitar tone in interesting ways.
Build your tone from scratch and save your results in one of 99 user-editable preset slots. Or, make use of 70 presets, and edit them however you see fit. With a step-sequencer, you can create interesting rhythmic patterns in tempo with the music, thanks to a tap-tempo footswitch. A blender function allows you to shuffle and exchange your settings between patches, effectively morphing between disparate sounds.
You'll note a bevy of connection opportunities, including a stereo output, a thru-put, and a send/return section for patching in your favorite external effects. The SY-300's expression and control pedals are assignable and carry out functions like manipulating effect parameters and selecting patches. Make use of MIDI I/O to integrate the unit into your MIDI chain, or connect over USB to a computer; the SY-300 also acts as a 24-bit / 44 kHz interface.
Boss aims for zero latency in the SY-300, which makes for a comfortable performing experience both onstage and in the studio. An AC adapter is included.
