Using COSM technology, the BOSS FRV-1 Pedal can recreate the classic sound of the original 1963 Fender Spring Reverb. The tube-driven sound of the '63 Reverb is rooted deep in surf music, rockabilly, country, and blues. The original reverb unit's front panel controls have been replicated on the pedal with Mixer, Tone, and Dwell knobs to shape your sound. While the FRV-1 may sound just like a tube-driven spring reverb tank, it has all the modern advantages of a compact stompbox. You can fit it on your pedalboard or carry it in a gig bag, the casing is rugged metal and there are no fragile tubes or springs inside that require special care or maintenance, the controls are easy to adjust and right at your feet. The pedal is finished in the familiar '60s Fender color scheme with a brown box accented by a black and silver faceplate.
Classic BOSS Design
The FRV-1 can run off of a single 9V battery or an optional external 9 VDC power supply. The electronics are encased in BOSS's iconic durable metal housing with a non-slip rubber base. The battery compartment can be easily accessed by unscrewing the thumbscrew at the front of the pedal. This pedal utilizes a buffered bypass for silent switching and driving long cable runs even while the pedal is disengaged.
