    Ooma OOMATELOWHT reviews

Telo 2 VoIP Phone System (White) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from New Ooma user I bought this for home use to lower our bills and get away from a phone bill. Very easy to set up and was able to port my old phone number in a couple of days. I would suggest buying the bluetooth option if your main phone/answer machine is in a different room than your router. On the slightly negative side once you set it up you have to pick a new phone number temporarily if you want to keep your old one. Once it is set up, your current number is not useable until it is ported over. If anyone calls that number it just continuously rings for them. You also have to sign up for the priority service, but you can cancel it at anytime.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Get this if you want to save money! Set up took about about 10 minutes. I used a temporary number while my old one was porting. I put ooma behind my router (not recommended setup) but it worked well for me so far so I'll keep it that way. While I only had it for it about two weeks, I really can't say enough about ooma. The call service is on par with what I previously had with cable but I pay so much less now( 4 dollars and change a month). Ooma gives you a premier service trial for 60 days. So, definitely try it out and see if it's something you want for $100 a year. I got this device to save money and it does exactly that while providing excellent service. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I should have switched sooner! Finally got tired of paying $50 a month for landline and switched to Ooma Telo 2 with premium service for $10 per month plus taxes and fees. It was very easy to set up following the instructions. It plugs into your router and then you plug it into a phone jack. Make sure phone wiring in your house is disconnected to the outside phone line. Now all phones in my house use Ooma. The audio quality with Ooma is far better than the telephone company landline. It is absolutely amazing. I have two phone numbers with one on single ring and other on double ring. It is really nice. I highly recommend Ooma.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost like a landline. There is a slight delay using VoIP and this device. Skype has more of a delay. This is pretty close to a standard landline. Two weeks after the purchase and activation the conpany had a $20 instant rebate. I could have waited and saved. Retaining your current number will cost $40 plus tax. Regardless, I'm still very happy with the purchase and the price is right for the features. Nice feature is that you can get your voicemail with one button or access it on their website or they will send you an email with an MP3 attached with the message.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great System, but watch out The product set up quickly, provided a much improved VOIP service. The product is excellent it is too bad that their service does not match the product. Be careful, right after you get connected, you are bombarded with all kinds of offers, they all cost money plus the not mentioned or referenced added fees, fees for what was never explained. I suggest that you wait a month before accepting or joining in any offer from Ooma, otherwise you will feel that you have been had. Just be darn careful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You won't miss your old phone service The Ooma Telo can pay for itself in just a few months. It's not free phone service, though, as you must pay taxes and fees every month (in addition to the Internet connection). The amount vary per location, but in my county is over $6/month, charged automatically to my credit card. The audio quality is superb. I always kept my old phone's volume setting on high, but had to switch it to low when I connected it to the Telo to avoid getting my eardrums burst. I used the telo to call internationally via a low-cost, pay-as-you-go long-distance phone service (an 877 phone number). I believe they also digitize the audio so I was afraid that the VoIP could be problematic, but it worked flawlessly. I have used the Telo for around two weeks now, and the only problem I noticed is that it does not provide power to my old handset. The handset has a small display with time and caller ID information. I called the tech suport and didn't have to wait too long to talk with someone. However, they suggested to reboot the Telo to fix the problem but that didn't work. I had to put batteries in the hanset to get it to work. I have never had to use batteries before when I had this handset plugged to the wall (my regular telco), so I don't know how long the batteries will last, but so far so good. In the next few days I will disconnect my house from the street telphone line and connect my home phone wiring to the Ooma. I have a couple other wired phones (in addition to a few wireless) in other rooms but they have their own power plugs, so I hope I won't have issues with their callerID displays. I will see if I can update this review after doing that. Another concern is the cost of adding a few other features such as anonymous call blocking, which require an additional monthly fee, and the additional $40 they charge for transfering your old phone number. Other minor issues are that the Telo design is flat and horizontal, which uses more space on my table than a more vertical design would, and the device feels quite light, not very solid (the unit shifts easily if I push the cables by accident).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Voice quality is really bad The device never worked properly. I have tried playing with the QOS, but it does not really work. Morever, only after I purchesed the product I found out that QOS is only for upstream. Meaning the person you are having the coversartion with MIGHT hear you well, but you will not hear him

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good News and Bad News Good News: Voice calls seem to work fine. Lots of nice features included, some extra Bad News: Faxes on my Brother with VOIP setting are distorted Published a number I choose that was taken 4 months prior Tech Support, not very knowledgeable and very time consuming Bottom line: If you have no problems you will be happy.
