Integrated airMAX Technology

Unlike standard Wi-Fi protocol, the Ubiquiti Networks airMAX Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) protocol allows each client to send and receive data using pre-designated time slots managed by an intelligent AP controller. This "time slot" method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes airtime efficiency.
Intelligent QoS
Priority is given to voice/video for seamless access.
Scalability
High capacity and scalability.
Long Distance
Capable of high-speed, 18+ mi (30+ km) links.

Quick, Snap-and-Lock Assembly

The mechanical design makes assembling and disassembling the LBE-M5-23 - literally - a snap. No tools are required.

This unit is not meant to be used as an AP. This is for long range between two points in a network.

Can it be used as access point in a 3 floor building?
Asked by: Jahangir
I personally would not use it for that. It is 5ghz, therefore wall/floor penetration is not as good as 2ghz It has a tight beam for directional signal, mostly used for point to point or point to multipoint backhaul. The UAP's are best for using in building. Specifically I use 2 ghz only, unless I plan on installing UAP's with line of site in everyroom.

question

Can two Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5 be used to create a link with each other - so that I can connect two buildings - one which has broad band internet to give internet access to a second building that does not have broad band access?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it can. 1. But be warned this model is not 2 MIMO technology. This model is single.2. Although the bands can over lap with similar Ubiquiti products they don't work well together, before you buy a pair make sure its just the 2 buildings you wish to network. If you are planning to run a point to multi point(PTMPT) in the future then look at upgrade options, throughput etc. I bought this to replace a Ubiquiti Loco M5, it was cheaper. After installing it I took it down and bought another Loco M5. This product works well as a pair or PTMPT.So far I have gotten 12.5 MBPS copying data from 1 location to another using this product and the Locom5. Both solid products.
