Daguerre Canvas (17" x 5' Roll) is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from No complaint with B&H, but a rip-off by Hahnemuhle Purchased this for a first trial of this canvas; had to pay extra, of course, for shipping, making it fairly expensive. But still less money to outlay than purchasing a full roll as a test. So, all as expected. The small 17 wide roll with just 5' (60) was also expected. I cut open the plastic seal to remove the roll, and the leading edge was raggedly and crookedly cut off; it appeared to have been cut using an unsharp scissors or hacked by a dull utility knife. So, I had to square up and clean up the leading edge and lost almost a half inch of the 60. But, wait, there's more. I downloaded the icc profile for this canvas for our Canon ipf6400 from the Hahnemuhle website and made the first print. The colors were way-y-y off. Green foliage was brown. Blue sky was muddy. First 20 of sample roll now a total waste. Printed the next sample image without the icc profile (I didn't want to waste more of the precious 60 inches creating our own profile); result was acceptable, but ordinary. Now the roll would no longer feed for a third print, which I should have easily been able to do. I removed and unwound the rest of the roll and found only 16-inches left on it; not only that but the last inch or a bit more was actually adhered to the core tube, making it unusable, so really only a bit less than 14 inches left. Now, do the math: wasted a half inch to square it up; first print used 19 inches; second print was only 13 inches long; and I now had 16 inches left. How does that add up to a a 5-foot sample roll? I've written Hahnemuhle through their website a week ago and received no response.
