Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best designed Arca-type QR plate I use a Leica M, which means I have to remove the quick release tripod plate every time I need to access either the SD card or the battery. Other brands of Arca-type QR plates attach via a hex screw, for which you need to carry a special wrench. This Gitzo plate also comes with a hex screw and wrench but you don't need to use them. You can also attach and remove the plate using a coin or, even more convenient, you can use the built-in flip-up thumb screw to remove it! This is easy, fast, and super convenient. If only Arca, Really Right Stuff, and the other high-end tripod head manufacturers did this too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no grip I was surprisingly disappointed by this. It does not have any grips so unless you use the allen key and tighten it super hard, it rotates. Does not bolster confidence. I keep it as a spare but otherwise would have returned it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gitzo quality Gitzo quality plate so I knew it would work perfectly with my Gitzo tripod. Why compromise your camera $$$ camera and lens over a couple of bucks savings on the mount? Makes ZERO sense to me...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than one It's always a good idea to have an extra mounting plate for your tripod...one for your camera and one for your sport lens.
