Nikon 2497 reviews

82mm Neutral Color NC Filter is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nikon Wont Replace Defective Filter I have owned SLR camera's all my life. I have never had a camera filter separate the way this Nikon filter did. When I contacted NIKON Support (Told by B&H needed to go through Nikon), here was the response Unfortunately there is no warranty on the 82MM Neutral Color Filter. This cannot be replaced or repaired through Nikon.. I have asked to speak to a supervisor. Still waiting for a response. To me this product was less than a year old and lightly used. This is defective manufacturing. It was not dropped or mis-handled. As you can see from the Photo no damage, it just separated. Not NIKON's finest hour. They sell me a defective product and this is the response Unfortunately there is no warranty on the 82MM Neutral Color Filter. This cannot be replaced or repaired through Nikon. Buy HOYA.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from filter split I also had the same problem another reviewer mentioned...the filter split. I have no idea how this could have happened - I've had the filter for just a few years and there was no incident that would have caused it. Seems like a manufacturing defect/problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Protection While a little pricier that other brands, I find Nikon filters some of the best quality. The Neutral Color provides an inexpensive way to protect expensive Nikon lenses.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OVERPRICED FILTERS I have been using Nikon products for 50 years and have never been disappointed with the quality and performance of their products. However, $130.00 for a NC filter is rather extreme.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So clear I can see through it. After I had seen some of the reviews from other websites about how the UV or clear filters can cause a slight loss in sharpness or have varying color transmission rates ( as tested by lens rentals and others), I decided I would get the Nikon NC for the Sigma 135 mm Art lens paired with my Nikon D800.  I have several other brands of UV or clear filters (Hoya, Promaster, Tiffen…) that I use to protect the front element of my lenses, and this is the clearest of all. When I picked it up I couldnt even see the glass. I thought it had fallen out. I honestly cant say there would be any appreciable differences in the images. If you are going to have a piece of glass like the art lenses you might as well put something on that isnt going to hinder the lens. I already stuck my fingers on the filter trying to take the lens cap off that was already off, and the filter cleans very nicely. If you really want the best image quality that your lens can deliver, and dont want to walk around with your front element naked, then I would highly recommend the Nikon NC.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glass Seperated From Mount In Less Than 4 Months I would highly recommend against purchasing Nikon Filters. They are poorly made, expensive, and Nikon does not stand behind defective products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Carefully delivered. It arrived in pristine condition and well packaged. I look forward to the lense protection it offers.
