The Hot Tele Set from Seymour Duncan includes two overwound single-coil electric guitar pickups designed for use in the neck and bridge positions of a Telecaster. Compared to a traditional Tele pickup set, this set delivers a bigger and fatter true single-coil tone with plenty of low-end power, and increased midrange punch and cut.
The STR-2 neck pickup features a deep drawn chrome-plated cover and delivers a bigger, fatter, and warmer tone than a traditional Tele neck pickup, packing an aggressive low end, plenty of midrange punch, and a smooth, articulate treble response, making it ideal for full-sounding chords and sweet solos. The STL-2 bridge pickup uses a special high-output coil wind to retain the muscular twang of a vintage-style Tele lead pickup while offering enough midrange power to cut through like a humbucker. In addition, the absence of a steel bottom plate on the bridge pickup creates a fat, full punch in both the low and midrange frequencies, resulting in a powerful lead tone with extra presence and drive.
As for construction, both the neck and bridge pickups use hand-ground alnico 5 rod magnets and are wax potted for squeal-free performance. Like all Seymour Duncan pickups, the Hot Tele Set is hand built in Santa Barbara, California.
