Made for cameras weighing up to 25 lb, this ProElite Tripod System is made up of 2-stage quick-lock legs with a 100mm bowl and a 3-25 fluid head with a 100mm ball base. The head will hold and counterbalance cameras up to 25 lb, making it useful for supporting either a large or small camcorder, a DSLR, or a mirrorless camera even while using larger lenses. The tripod supports payloads of up to 88lb, so even larger video heads or heavy dollies and sliders can be supported by the tripod itself.

The tripod head uses a mini-euro style quick release plate which is secured by a sliding platform to balance your camera. Pan and tilt drag can be adjusted in four steps, and the counterbalance can be added in three increments including zero. The extendable pan handle can be secured to either the left or right side of the head, to accommodate right- or left-handed users.

The aluminum tripod legs feature dual flip-lock stages and a mid-level spreader for use on even and uneven surfaces. With the legs at their full extension, the tripod is 63.5" tall, and it compacts to 32.5". The rubber feet on the bottom can be removed to reveal metal spikes for extra traction outdoors.

ProElite Tripod System with 3-25 Fluid Head is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Build Quality The PE3100-25 tripod and head is reasonably priced and is heavy duty. Great for 25 pounds of equipment. Controls are well laid out and the steps are easy to maneuver. Pan and tilt movement is very smooth. Comes with a very nice tripod bag. Really happy with this tripod and head set up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice tripod but... I owned a few Davis and Sanford products including the Pro Vista 7518 with the FM18 head and loved it. But when I needed another tripod to take on more load capacity, I aimed for the Pro-Elite because of its spec and price. I don't usually write reviews but this one needs some clarity. The tripod is lighter that the 7518 which I have mixed feelings about but it looks well build and stable. The thing I don't like about it and was not aware of until I received the tripod is the proprietary quick release plate. I was hoping it would come with a heavy duty Manfrotto universal quick release and base. The proprietary quick release is small and troublesome. Worse, I am told by their support that I cannot replace it was a third party plate. Although it works, I am concerned about it taking weight of a camera like an URSA Or ENG camera which I use it for. I hope Davis would come out with an option for a base and quick release plate which if they did, I would have given it a 4 or even 5 stars.
