Manfrotto MB MA-TRV-GY overview

  • 1Description

The gray Advanced Travel Backpack from Manfrotto accommodates a DSLR with an attached lens, two additional lenses, a flash and accessories between touch-fastened dividers inside a modular main camera compartment. A dedicated rear pocket holds up to a 13" laptop, and an expandable side pocket holds a Manfrotto Befree Compact Travel Photo Tripod. For accessories, there is a spacious top storage area and multiple exterior and interior storage pockets.

To access your camera gear, there is a side access panel to quickly obtain your DSLR and lenses. The panel opens to reveal a variety of pockets on the inside for grabbing your accessories. In addition to the expandable side pocket, you can also secure a tripod to the front of the backpack. Also, when you don't need your camera gear, the main compartment divider can be removed to create one large spacious interior for your everyday travel items. To carry the backpack, there is a comfortably padded backpack harness as well as a top grip handle.

    Manfrotto MB MA-TRV-GY reviews

Advanced Travel Backpack (Gray) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 51.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Who knew I'd like a backpack? Bought as a secondary bag for smaller nature-type shots. I usually pack A LOT and use a rolling bag for most shoots, but needed a quick shoot bag. Like the side access - just sling it back over to your left, and you can get to what you need pretty quick. Stability straps, two ways to hold tripods (larger can be attached to rear, smaller can go in side pocket). Convenient size, I'm a medium woman, so it was good to find one that didn't dwarf me. Former backpacks I'd experienced (and why I'm biased) would become unzipped as you walked, or were far too floppy or not protective enough. This bag solved those issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great, lightweight backpack The Manfrotto Advanced Travel Backpack is perfect for 3-4 lenses, accessories, a small travel tripod and even a light jacket. It is far roomier than it looks and is well balanced on my shoulders. I debated between this backpack and another more expensive Manfrotto backpack that could hold more gear, but I feel this smaller backpack is perfect for me. I saw a few videos that showed this bag fitting a 70-200 f/2.8 and few other FF lenses with room to spare that was when I decided to purchase it. Also, it held my 15 MacBook Pro with no problem although the specs claim only a 13 computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cant beat it...for now. I use this bag for everyday needs traveling from place to place, always have my camera with me to capture whatever my heart desires. There is enough room to fit 2x DSLR's and or 1x DSLR & Mirrorless + plus MacBook Air, Surface or std. 15 laptop and other little accessories. The tripod compartment is great and you can also strap it on the back for easy access. Overall great product, just be careful not to over do it with the side pockets, the zipper can not handle the bulk and if you force it might break or unlatch, but not a deal breaker. I had this bag for over 2x weeks and so far so good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect I was in love with this backpack when I first purchased it, so comfortable and very versatile with two separate compartments and a large expandable side pocket for fitting a tripod. The top inner compartment can be used to pack stuff like some extra t-shirt and such while travelling or you can fit another divider element like I did (see the pics). The bottom compartment can also be configured for your needs, or you can even join these two compartments to make it one large empty bag. BUT here is the major downside, after several months of heavy usage (I travel a lot with my equipment and this bag was killing it) almost all of the zippers went dead, one by one!! falling apart along the seams (see the pics) Very poor manufacturing I'm afraid.. I wouldn't give two stars if this wasn't a real big flaw but zippers are life and death imho.. This bag has one job, it should securely hold our expensive gear, and I don't think you should trust this one if you're a heavy user.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT BACKPACK Long ago I bought this backpack and so far I feel very happy with it is very comfortable and has very well made finishes. At the moment I take my camera, the objectives and the additional accessories to it also my laptop and with all this weight the backpack is still intact without damages by the use. I totally recommend it. -------- Hace tiempo a tras compre esta mochila y hasta ahora me siento muy contento con ella es muy cmoda y tiene acabados muy bien hechos. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent. I use this to haul around two Fujifilm X-T2s and six lenses and a flash or two. It is superb. The only issue is that you need to remember to zip everything up and snap the side straps before you carry it. Not that anything has happened, but it is something to be concerned about. Others have worried about the longevity of the zippers and I wish they were better sown in. But mine travelled on my back on Moscow's and Washington's metros and busses every day for the last five months and has weathered everything. The bottom line is that it is the best large camera bag I have used in 50 years of photography. And the most comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A versatile camera backpack I've used this backpack a few times for photo shoots. It appears to be exactly what I was looking for. Ir can be used as a regular backpack if you remove the dividers. This bag can be used to carry camera equipment and some personal items. I have found it convenient and comfortable to use. Usually I just carry 2 lenses and a camera plus the usual other possibly needed items: reflectors, filters etc. I'm also planning to use it when I travel to carry more equipment. So far the only thing I don't like is that the belt is not sturdy and I'm a little concerned about how it will work when I carry more stuff.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's just ok This is a decent backpack but it has a few issues. First is the size. It's a little smaller than you think at first. Although you can get a camera and a couple lenses in it fairly easy, there isn't a lot of room for other extras like chargers, spare batteries, etc. And then there are the zippers. I don't care for the large metallic pulls that are on the zippers. They can just seem awkward at times. Lastly, the zippers don't seem to be as high a quality as I'm used to on my other camera bags and zipping or unzipping around the corner areas can sometimes be problematic. The bag isn't bad, but I think for the price, and from a brand like Manfrotto, it should be better.
