Transcend TS32GDP520A overview

  • 1Description

Use the DrivePro 520 Car Recorder and GPS from Transcend to provide an extra set of eyes for events happening in the car and on the road. With dual lenses, the camera provides a 130° angle of view of events happening in front of the car, and a 110° angle of view of events taking place inside the car. The rear lens features integrated IR LEDs for capturing passenger footage even during night driving with low-light settings. Equipped with a 2.4" LCD screen and GPS connection, the camera can map current and past coordinates and display maps. In the event of a collision, the camera's G-sensor will automatically trigger video recording of the event and protect the footage from being overwritten. In emergency instances without collisions, an on-device snapshot button allows the driver or front-seat passenger to manually capture images. Using the Transcend mobile application or Toolbox computer software, the driver can then use the recorded footage and images for submitting claims to insurance companies, or for filing police reports. Safely secure the camera to your car windshield using the included adhesive mount for optimal recording angles.

    Transcend TS32GDP520A reviews

DrivePro 520 Car Recorder and GPS (Adhesive Mount) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice dashcam, with one exception. I use this cam for recording UBER rides just in case there are any issues. I have not had any issues with the forward cam day or night as would be expected. Now the interior camera is a different story. The interior shot is fine during the day, but at night, the 4 LED's that are supposed to illuminate the interior only has around 12-18 of range. It will not even illuminate the front seat passengers that well, much less any passengers in the rear. If there were more LED's or more powerful ones, it may be a 5-star product. I really hate this shortcoming as the camera is really good otherwise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DrivePro 520 for a professional driver...Good, but concerned I received the 520 promptly from B&H. Upon opening the box I noticed that 2 of the items had already been opened and the packaging was torn. I am worried that the products have been used and are not new. I photographed these if needed. All other items where secure in mfr. wrappings. Hardware seemed in good shape without external wear and tear. Micros card installation was easy and camera accepted it with no problem. Camera turns on once plugged in. The manual is a bit of a light weight, not offering much in the way of instructions and practically no trouble shooting. This is important. My three main critiques are this: 1. When I rotate the rear facing camera it feels, and sounds like there is a wire or something like flimsy plastic loose and rubbing internal. 2. Camera locked up on me one night. The red light stayed on even as I unplugged it and exchanged SD card. It stayed in for over an hour like the internal power was not releasing. Had to wait for it to shut off the next day. I missed recording a few rides due to this. 3. Infrared light is ok but not something to write home about. While it can reach to the back of my van, it lakes a wide peripheral angle and in super dark times it us not 100% effective. Front camera is ok too. Good quality but not for reading plates at night. Sound is good. Auto display shut off is a great feature. An exchange woukd make me feel more comfortable because of the sound in the rotating camera and the already opened packaging.
