The 45° angled-viewing TrailSeeker 80 20-60x80 Spotting Scope by Celestron features a versatile 20-60x zoom eyepiece to provide views from generous vistas to tight, detailed images. The 80mm objective lens possesses light-gathering capability superior to that of scopes with smaller lenses, which makes for a bright image and enhances the scope's capabilities in low-light conditions. Proprietary anti-reflection XLT fully multi-coated optics allow for efficient light transmission through the optical path for crisp, high-contrast views.

The angled eyepiece permits comfortable glassing whether standing, sitting, or lying flat on the ground. Dual focusing offers precise image control by allowing a preliminary coarse focus, which you can then refine using the fine-focus control for a tack-sharp view. You can rotate the scope in its tripod collar a full 360° to put the eyepiece in the best position. The TrailSeeker 80 has a nitrogen-filled waterproof housing that won't fog up in humid conditions and features a sliding sunshade to keep glare or raindrops off the objective lens. To facilitate digiscoping, a T-adapter is included so you can mount a T-ring compatible with your DSLR to the eyepiece.

For adverse weather conditions, a stay-on carrying case is included that can be left on the scope during use—zippers fore and aft open for the objective lens and the eyepiece. The TrailSeeker is designed to use standard 1.25" astronomical eyepieces, so in addition to the included zoom eyepiece, you can use other eyepieces on your spotting scope to achieve higher magnifications, wider fields of view, etc.

Celestron TrailSeeker Reviews

Great scope!

The TrailSeeker 80 offers great performance at a value price. I bought it for my wife. We have a small pond outside our backyard and the scope gives great clarity to the waterfowl who inhabit the wetlands. I plan on building a digiscope adaptor which will allow us to easily record videos and pictures. I spent a lot of time researching the options, and am very satisfied with this purchase. Yes, you can do better, but nothing in the price range comes close. Given the price and ease of setup, this is the perfect package for the price. It's relatively portable and should provide years of service.

Good value for money.

We use Our scope for watching birds near and far; at 200m./yds. one can see good detail of Our feathered friends. At 15km to offshore islands, one can see boats land, and Human figures on the shore. This scope is most effective at 20-30x. After 40x, clarity isn't so good for any detail. To own a scope that provides clear images at higher magnification, would I suppose, cost thousands.(and Who could justify that sort of expenditure, when so many have nothing at all) We are very happy with this Celestron scope, and it is more than adequate for Our amateur use.

Super clear optics and no problem seeing .308 caliber holes on target at 300 meters. And it did come with a soft carrying case.

Well built, sharp and bright image quality

This scope is well built, and has a rotating tripod mount that allows viewing in almost any position. The image quality is very bright and sharp up to about 40mm and then gradually darkens in the 50 X to 60 X range which is to be expected. The eye relief is generous and extends, and the field of view is excellent. The focusing knobs both coarse and fine are together and a bit awkward to focus quickly and takes getting used to. It would have been nice if like their other scopes it had a built in sight on the side. I like the screw-on protective metal cap on the eyepiece along with the included stay on carrying case. I think it is a terrific spotting scope for its price class although it might be a bit large to carry in the field. I recently purchased the Celestron Omni (Plossi) eyepiece – 32mm which now provides clearer and brighter image easily matching scopes costing three times the price...Louie D

Great Spotting Scope for the Money, but..

Celestron made a great product when they made this scope. I have had one little issue with it though. The digiscoping threads on the zoom eyepiece under the rubber eyeguard seized up on me after only a few days of use. B&H replaced the whole scope after I sent it back. I would advise that you get the Meade 8-24mm eyepiece and use that instead of the Celestron one. The Meade is better. The Celestron eyepiece requires an adapter that comes with it and the threads are flimsy. The Meade has better T threads and is more rugged and does not need an adapter.

question

What is the type of integrated tripod plate? (I.e. what head is compatible with integrated tripod mount without extra plate?
Asked by: Serge K.
I don't know what the mount is called but the unit fits ideally with my Manfrotto tri pod with a Manfrotto 498RC2 head. The quick release works no worries.Regards Greg
