    Canon MG7720 reviews

PIXMA MG7720 Wireless All-in-One Inkjet Printer (Black) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 108.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great home office printer and scanner I bought this to replace the Canon 8220 I'd been using for several years, when the scanner mechanism stopped working. I am very pleased with this new model. It is actually smaller and lighter than the 8220 and has more functionality. Scanning dox to PDF email attachments is a breeze. Wi-fi setup is easy, and I have it networked into my home devices. I can print directly from iPhone and iPad which saves uploading images to my computer. Print quality is excellent for everyday use. (I use an Epson for archival photo work.) I do miss the rear feed option which was great for one-off print jobs such as check printing or using custom papers, but I'm adjusting to the cassette-only process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Solid Printer So Far I realy like the Automatic On/Off function. The Auto Functions have a lot of power and also extend the life of the printhead as it parks when powered off. The Auto-power feature even works wirelessly. It has Autoscan, automatic detection of photos or documents (or both) and saves them automatically as images or PDFs. If you have photos on a background (like posterboard) then it will dectect a document so you must manually select photo (color or black and white). It has up to 600 dpi resolution on scans and nice color. You can also print from a smart phone after downloading the free canon app and pairing the phone via NFC to the printer..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Photo Image Quality After researching online I finally settled on the Canon Pixma MG7720 printer for its very good photo quality. What a joke!!! I previously owned a Canon Pixma printer for over 10 years. The pictures it printed were great. It appears that Canon no longer cares about color accuracy of printed photos. I own a very good calibrated monitor (my monitor is calibrated to delta E = 0.25). I expect the printer which was rated as very good photo quality to come somewhat close to accurate colors and accurate luminance. I researched ICC printer profiles several times trying various profiles, and was unable to make this printers produce a good looking picture. Currently I consider this purchase to be a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Photo Printer Doesn't Dissapoint I have owned this printer for over a year and just bought one for my sister. I use it exclusively for photo printing and it does an awesome job, top quality pictures. I do a lot of scrapbooking on the computer and that is the main reason I bought this printer. Very pleased! I have it connected via printer cable, but am also able to print to it wireless as well. The software that comes with it for scanning isn't the best but it works. I have also printed cd's and it works quite well. Again the software isn't the greatest and it took a while to figure out how to get the images on the cd, but it's a neat feature to have.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from MG7720 successor to MG6220 Having worn my 6220's to the bone, I looked to Canon for the successor to the MG6220 and found the MG7720. Bought two printers to replace my two 6220s and was somewhat disappointed in the upgrade. The picture quality was the normal CANON quality but it has a great deal of problems in handling thicker (heavier) papers. I use the heavier 60-67lb stock for order blanks (3-up) and for printing inserts for CDs and DVDs. The 6220 had the rear feed feature which the 7720 eliminated. The 7720 struggles to handle this heavy a paper because it has to run thru the bending from the lower pfint tray to reach the printhead table. I am disappointed with this newer version but will use them and my older 6220s until Canon makes a newer 7720 model with the added read-feed feature. Iwould not recommend this to the serious user who prints on heavier photo/bond papers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thank God I did not throw my MG6220s away I am a pro-media producer and use my printers to print Cd and DVD case inserts. I use 60lb photo paper to make my inserts and I bought two MG7720 printers to update/replace my MG6220 printers. Thank God I didn't throw them out. I am done with the new MG7720 printers. This newer version did away with the back feed slot - big mistake!!!! The paper will not feed in the 7720 as the printer makes it bend around the path to print. I am going back to my odl 6220 printers until Canon makes a new printer with the old back feed slot so I can print on heavier papers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice upgrade from older Canon 8220 - super snapshot printer The two paper trays are a nice touch except they hold only a few sheets - this isn't a high volume printer anyway and I normally run around 30, 4 x 6 prints per session. For larger prints I go to a Pro series Canon. Color is much improved over the old printer where I was forever correcting color shifts. Its not perfect as you'll read from others but after 300 or so prints it's a nice improvement. The only reason I give this 4 stars is the unfortunate cost of color ink cartridges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up Only had this printer about a week. This is planned to be a satellite printer in my wife's craft room. It set up easily with no wires or computer connections. So far it has printed acceptable images on regular paper as well as 4x6 photo paper. She has copied patterns. It's noticeably quieter than most printers and because the output tray stays closed until needed the whole printer is out of the way. The white color makes it blend with the trim in the room. It's what we wanted. Time will tell if it's a good long term addition.
