The downloadable Albion II Loegria from Spitfire Audio is a collection of tools for the creation of orchestral & ensemble film music of soft, detailed, esoteric character. The 37,325 samples included in the volume display an intimate, simplistic treatment of the orchestral sections.
The string section is chamber-sized and features a selection of special techniques such as tremolando, trills, harmonics, flautando, and light col legno in addition to the more standard long, short, and legato articulations. Sampled with special attention to their choral qualities, the wind sections include unconventional brass instruments such as euphoniums and sackbuts, as well as an ensemble of traditional wooden recorders. An original selection of cinema-style Darwin percussion samples featuring multiple round robins and dynamic layers complete the symphonic setting. Beyond the orchestral sections, the Loegria is topped off with a Stephenson's Steam Band collection of synth-processed orchestral sounds and a selection of vintage-style Byron Tapes rhythmical loops.
Each sample is available in a choice of close-, tree-, ambient-, and outrigger-mic mixes which can be combined as needed to customize the sound. The Albion II Loegria has been designed to be scalable to variously powered systems—settings such as the number of round robins and active mics canbe adapted to the hardware you are working on at any particular moment. Loegria runs on the Kontakt 5 player, the full version of which is included with the library.
The overview panel gives you a quick and easy way to access, view, and load the different articulations, mic mixes, and essential controller functions which you can then reassign to suit your workflow.
General Controls Panel
This is a deeper but still simple UI panel that allows you to tweak the general settings. You can choose, for example, how many round robins you want and how you want them to behave, or how memory is organized alongside pitch options.
This device allows you to build up complex rhythmical patterns that react to your playing to create original effects.
Reversed material can be used in a variety of ways for patching up edits.
